He used to poop like 4 times a day but the past 3 days he has only pooped once a day. Is he going through a growth spurt or is something wrong? He also throws up a LOT the Dr told me to alternate breast milk with formula (gentle ease) and it helped a little.

Hi! If you breastfeed the baby, it is normal that baby doesn't poop everyday. My baby poops even once every 2 weeks & that is absolutely NORMAL!!! If the baby drink powder milk, it should poop everyday because it's heavier to digest than the mother milk. If you still can breastfeed the baby, then you should keep going because by breastfeeding the baby can develope better immun system. So stop the formula! Mother milk is the best!!!

If he throws up, it could be some reasons. e.g.
In beetween, baby need to burb, so that he can swallow the milk he drinks.
It's absolutely normal if baby spits the milk or throw up a lot "once a while" because he basiclly has enough; more than he needs. You might have to worry if he:
- throws up each time after you feed him/ many times a day in HUGE quantity (a full expresso cup)
- your baby has no appetite & keeps losing weight
Then, it's time to worry!
My baby never threw up for 3 months, but afterwards he always throws up a bit, when I keep don't burb him in beetwen or if I feed him too much. He poops only once every 2 weeks & he is absolutely very healthy. He keeps growing & putting on his weight.

Your doctor is a moron (sorry but that is sooo true). Your son if FINE. It is normal for breastfed infants to go up to a week between bowel movements. STOP USING FORMULA or you will risk nipple confustion and loss of milk supply.
