My cat gave birth to two babies. One died, and she ate the other. It is her first time to have babies, she is two years. Any way why do they eat their kids. IT IS VERY AWFUL!!!!!

Yeah... i know that is very sad. I never knew that cats did that too, but i used to have hampsters, and i remember my mom told me to never touch the babies, or else the mother will smell human scent on them, and the mother will either eat the babies, or she will refuse to feed them, and they will starve.im really sorry this happend to your kitties. I think this is something that most animals do.

heey Abeer :'( .. yesterday my friends cat who got married to my baby gave birth to 5 kittens .. and one of them wasnt born in abood health . he was really tiny and with no hair ..unlike his parents and brothers .. and he kept meiwing all the time and he passed away .. then She hate him !!!!!! iwas totally SHOCKED when my friend told me so .. coz inever thought such thing could happen !!!! and WHY !!! iread the replies u got .. and ikinda got the point .. but still its freaky !!! and cant imagen she did that !!

i thought that was how cats naturally regain their energy and health after labour.
On the other hand ,baby crabs eat their mother coz she is their source of nutrition.
You can confirm by asking your Vet doctor.

Cat's don't eat their babies. They will eat the after birth, and sometimes will accidentally bite the kitten. More likely they will suffocate them accidently. If your cat is eating it's kittens it is a very sick cat, itself, and needs to see a vet A.S.A.P.

they do this as they know there babies are sick or just to week to live , so it´s her duty to kill them straight away so they don´t have to suffer , nature
