There are so many: I wish you lots of wisdom and fun learning to teach this lovely sign. I had a friend who tries to teach me. I love to watch it signed to others. I met someone who was deaf and mute. He tried to teach me also. It is necessary to learn in this day an age and you never know when you will need it.

Research has shown that while babies may lack the fine motor skills to speak, they do have the ability to understand and use language as early as 6-7 months. And given the right guidance, they have lots to say - with their hands.

Babies and toddlers often use signs as a natural part of the communication process. Many babies know how to wave “bye-bye” or use a headshake to mean “no.” The Baby Signs Program can help your baby use lots of other gestures to communicate just as easily as these more common “signs.”

You might even already be using signs without realizing it! If you are singing your child’s favorite songs and nursery rhymes along with finger or hand movements, you are actually helping your child learn signs that can be useful outside the song. Your child may sign back to you when you are eating, getting ready for bed, or walking to the park, or taking a bath

I haven't actually looked for any sign language books for babies, but I've noticed that Little Einsteins have a dvd set for it. You could always do a search on amazon too.
