My wife's about to have our first child. We're both incredibly excited, as you can imagine but I'm aware that new baby causes new tension in the parents' relationship. Does anyone have any tips as to how best to avoid the screaming matches that I envisage?

Ok, I'm 32 weeks pregnant and don't have a new carseat for my baby. I do have an Evenflo Discovery (which I absolutely HATED for a number of reasons) that I used a few times with my first (born in Oct. 2003) and second child (born Feb. 2005). It's been sitting in the garage now for over a year and a half, is mildewy, the fabric is slightly faded. The other day I found an Evenflo Portabout in excellent condition with the base at a thrift store for $5, BUT the umbrella thingy is missing. I couldn't imagine using a carseat without the umbrella. My husband says ok, now you have 2 carseats...we're not buying another one. Just wash the dirty one or use the one without the umbrella. If you have read anything about the Discovery I'm sure you'd be scared to use one too. It has a 3 point harness, not 5, the seat is a pain to get out of the base, the handle on the carseat wobbles and isn't stable. This 3rd child was a surprise so the other carseat was sold last yr. Am I being picky?

I have been reading a book that says a child at this age should have 3 naps. 1 in the morning, 1 in the afternoon and one in the evening. When i don't give my child the morning nap she seems to sleep longer during her afternoon nap, like a good 2 hours. Other wise she sleeps only 45 min when i give her the morning nap. Any thoughts on this. The book i have have been reading is healthy sleep habits happy baby. Her cousing who is the same age as her sleeps 4 times a day and stays asleep for at least 2.5 hours for each nap! My goal is to eventually get my child to sleep thru the night only waking up once. Right now she wakes up 2 times.

I have a lively precious 11 month old son. He is the light of my life but he still doesn't sleep through the night. It is really wearing on me. I give him a bath, use the lavender baby wash that is supposed to help him sleep through the night, he gets a meal and a bottle before he goes to bed to ensure he's not hungry, a clean diaper, everything I can think of. He still wakes up 1-2 times a night, every day of the week. He's almost a year old and lately I've been getting really frustrated with the situation. I'm so tired. I'm tired of getting up twice a night. When you get up in the middle of the night for almost a year straight, you start to get upset! He currently isn't teething or anything. I don't understand what's waking him up. I got up and put him back to bed twice last night and he woke up for a third time. I was so exhausted I let him cry it out for only the 2nd time in his whole life. I feel incredible guilt. Any suggestions? What should I do? Is cry it out wrong?? Help!

I'm a somewhat newly single mom in Fort Worth. Long story!! None the less, I'm looking for more friends that have children around her age for us both to hang out with. They don't have to be single ofcourse. I'm 23. She's 12 months. I'm also due at the end of February with her little brother. I'm not used to going out or anything so I wouldn't know where to start to find people to hang out with. I'm just trying to get back into the swing of things. Thanks!!

She is ten and knows that I have been really sick. With any luck the baby will come sooner other wise we plan to pull the baby out next week on my daughter's birthday. She is saying she is o.k with it but (not really)! It's in her voice and her actions that show me that she is very upset that we may not have a choice. I told her that maybe God wants this to be her birthday gift. Maybe her brother will grow up having her vary same likes and dislikes. Are there any other suggestions you can give me to help her feel better? Thanks

song that is not a nursery rhyme? My son has a favorite son, Janet Jackson's "Come Back To Me" that i have on this hits CD. It's like a drug or something because the moment he hears it he is still, quiet, and most of the time falls asleep. What's your baby's favorite song? By the way, my son is 11 months old and this has been his favorite from about 3 months.

I need a nice and uncommon name for a baby boy. Maybe any of you answerers can help. Giving me the name, its origin and meaning will greatly be appreciated. I am not really into feng shui, but a lucky first name which you can relate to feng shui is something I may find interesting too.

I have my six week check up tomorrow, and I am considering getting the copper IUD. What are your experiances with it? Any side effects, discomforts? I am allergic to latex and don't want to take hormones so this seems like a good option to me, Ijust want to get a general opinion on it. Thanks.
