Hey, these shots are normally given by a licensed physician. If the doctor hasn't kept records of when the child last received this shot, he's absolutely negligent to have given it again. Bring it to his attention if you're absolutely certain of the overdose. How did you come to realize that it was the 2nd dose given???
I'm no doctor so ask either the one who administered this last and first shot, or ask an entirely different doctor what the affects might be under these circumstances and watch the child carefully. Sounds like someone dropped the ball.

My nephew was given two shots of DPT also, through confusion of a move. He now has a form of autism, that has been attributed to the fact that he got a double dose of the vaccine. I am not sure how the mistake happened in your case, but you need to get your daughter under a physician's care immediately. I am not sure that it will affect her, but you need to have it all checked out.

Good Luck

I'm not sure what dpt is. My advice would be to call your local ER and ask the doctor or nurse on duty. They would be able to advise you on what you should do.

I don't know what dpt is. It's a good idea to call the pediatrician and/or poison control service.

<>Do you mean Dyphtheria/Pertussis/Typhoid? I don't think it will have any negative affect, but you should at leats ask a doctor. How did you do that? How did you YOU even get the doses, since they are supposed to be administered by a doctor?

the question is, why did the docs office give it with out checking to see if she had already had it?
nothing you can do about it. since its injected adn there is no reversing agent, just watch for allergic reaction since she is drastically at risk now. also watch for abnormal behaviour that could result from the mercury(unless you specifically asked for mercury free all vaccines contain it)
