I am a new mother trying to breastfeed exclusively, but the soreness of my nipples is intolerable at times, and it prevents me from breastfeeding solely. Is there anything I can do to soothe my nipples or make them become accustomed to this discomfort.

I have a one month old that I have been breastfeeding. Now, my right breast is noticably larger than my left one. I have been having him nurse off of the left breast all the time now and only pump my right one twice a day. I still can't get them close to even. Any suggestions?

is premixed formula just premixed with water? in other words is the only thing different about what is in the premixed formula is water? and what are the benifits of using premixed versus powder, or the disadvantages.

I was looking over this post on my blog for new mothers

http://www.babylune.com/a-long-list-of-discomforts

Nothing else I have written comes close to describing my physical state after giving birth.

This post

http://www.babylune.com/7-the-down-there-omnibus

is probably the most honest thing I have ever written.

I have been wondering if new mothers would read a book about recovering from childbirth. Do you think it would be worth writing one?

I do research on the topic every day for my blog http://www.babylune.com.

I have a 3 month old daughter who WAS doing well on her formula, but recently, when she graduated to 6 ounces every 3 to 4 hours, she has stared having issues. She fights the bottle, hungry and wanting it yet pushing it away. Fussy, and she is NEVER fussy or cries. Acting like her belly hurts. Spitting up that has graduated into not keeping anything down when she NEVER really spit up before. Dr told me I was crazy, that I was over feeding and force feeding her, but sitter has same issues w/ baby. Dr refused to listen to me, or any ideas to fix problem, even told me that since baby is in 90th percentile for weight, it would be ok if baby lost weight. This is my 6th child and while Dr was told that, she refused to listen to me and insisted that the problem is baby is over fed. Sitter and I believe that it is the formula and baby needs a change to something w/o milk or lactose. Dr strongly disagreed w/ my assesment. I think I should try baby on soy formula!
What do you think?

Her left shoulder is smaller and lower than her right shoulder. I took her to the doctor today and she recommended we go to a bone doc because she says it's not something they see very often. She mentioned something about ribs and something about not growing at the same rate on one side.
We have an apt. with the specialist Feb. 1st.
My daughter is 21 months old and it seems to have become more pronounced with age.

She's 7 months old, and I'm constantly on the go. If I'm at a restaurant, I will frequently breastfeed her before the food shows up so she's a happy and content baby. People always stare, and the waitstaff frequently avoid our table.

At the airport, picking up my hubby, I had quite a long wait - and did not hesitate to breast feed. In addition to the staring, a teenage girl pointed and made a rude comment within hearing range.

I try to be discrete, but I honestly don't see what the big deal is. I'm in the midwestern US - is it that I'm in a conservative location? Or have others experienced this problem?

What should I do? I sometimes feel like confronting the starers/ commenters, but I never have.

Her daddy is Zulu, and he's always amused by Midwestern values. He just doesn't understand why it causese such a fuss.

Does anyone know where, or even if I can get an infant sized (3 mos. old) Suit and Tie outfit for a baptism? I've found a 6/9 mos. size but that's still too big. I don't want my son baptised in one of those silly gowns that look like a dress, that worked fine for our daughters, but I'd rather have something more "male" for our son.

Last night I posted that my 4 month old baby girl decided on her own that she wanted to sleep in her crib. I put her in her bassinet and she cried and wouldn't settle down, so I put her in the crib and she was out like a light. Well an update, she did awesome, she slept all night. Me on the other hand, I was up all night, wanting to check on her and make sure she was ok. Of course I never because I didn't want to wake her up by opening her door and the light shinning on her. But she did awesome, so I guess I can try and sleep ok tonight. I just wanted to update yous, as this was a big step for me, and her, and well I think I was more nervous then needed. I missed her in my room but she was happy in there and her happiness is all that matters.

A friend of mine has a 6 month old girl and paints her finger nails, she constantly asks if she can paint my little girls nails, shes 4 months and I say no way. I think 6 months is to young considering babys always have their hands in their mouths. I told her not to do it, but she thinks its ok.

Is there any point to focusing on things labelled as "diaper bags" when shopping for something to be used as ditto? They seem a bit overpriced for such basic-looking tote bags, and I'm inclined to think you can just jam a portable changing pad in the right sort of regular backpack. True?
