Last night I posted that my 4 month old baby girl decided on her own that she wanted to sleep in her crib. I put her in her bassinet and she cried and wouldn't settle down, so I put her in the crib and she was out like a light. Well an update, she did awesome, she slept all night. Me on the other hand, I was up all night, wanting to check on her and make sure she was ok. Of course I never because I didn't want to wake her up by opening her door and the light shinning on her. But she did awesome, so I guess I can try and sleep ok tonight. I just wanted to update yous, as this was a big step for me, and her, and well I think I was more nervous then needed. I missed her in my room but she was happy in there and her happiness is all that matters.

Congrats! I have a sharper image video baby monitor. It is awesome and I don't have to get out of bed to see him!

Congratulations!! My son is 11 months old and he still hates his crib. I felt the same last nite tho because I've been trying to get him to sleep thru the nite and in his crib. Every other nite lately he screams for about 15 minutes until he wears himself out and finally falls asleep. Last nite he cried for about a minute and was out cold. I didn't know what to do. I tossed and turned and kept wanting to check on him, but I was scared if I did he'd wake up and start screaming. I'm hoping for the same tonite. Very little crying, then sleep, and hopefully we'll all get some sleep tonite.

YEA! Congrats! It's so nice when they start sleep through the night in their cribs. My 2 month old has just started sleeping through the night and I know what you mean about wanting to check on them all the time. Good work!

Good, congratulations!

I was the same way, I always woke up and checked on mine in the middle of the night...it wears off eventually! Baby monitor on the side of the crib offered some reassurance!

Bravo! No more sleep dep for you!

It can be nerve wracking, I know. The first time my oldest slept through the night I woke up in a panic the next morning convinced I would find him cold and stiff in his crib. But you've passed the hurdle, until next baby anyway.

Great, you made it once. Keep on going, she'll sleep well and you after a couple of nights too. I did the same, checking over and over again and I adored having my son with me. I still get him with us in early mornings when he wakes up and cries, I don't know whether it's educationaly spoken the best, but he's happy, healthy and we too.

Don't worry if you check on your baby the first nights (or longer) it's normal.Just make intervals larger.
Enjoy your baby.

I put my son in his own bed at 1-2/2 weeks old...and yes I was up all night checking on him. at 2-1/2 weeks he would go down at 9 and not wake up till 7 am the next morning. I was nursing and I would wake up soaked in milk!! Keep it up!! It gets easier to sleep with confidence. You are still attuned to any noise that baby makes...trust me you'll wake up.

It is amazing how quickly kids start making steps towards independence (even when we parents don't want them to)! Congrats, and I hope you will soon be able to actually enjoy the uninterrupted sleep!
