I have read some questions on here stating that they give their babies tea. WHY? Why would anyone give their child tea? My baby is 4 months and I would never give a baby that small tea, why do others do it? Is there a reason?

One of the questions posted about feeding issues for a 5 month old, stated breakfast and tea, and then she wrote she meant tea to mean dinner time. I guess I misunderstood that question but there was another one that stated she gave her child tea and I can't seem to find it.

Some people just don't know any better or are under the mistaken impression that tea might help a baby's digestion. I work for pediatricians and they would drop dead if a parent told them they gave their baby tea.

Although I have never given my baby tea, I have heard of it. Some people give their baby chamomile tea to help with colic and tummy issues. It does kind of make sense because I have given my little girl baby bilss gripe water and that has chamomile in it. Its to help with gas and tummy issues.

Please post where you found this so we can read it. Never heard of it other than the tea for breast milk production.
