Hey, the time to do that was when he was an infant. I don't think you could even find a doctor willing to do it now.
It has NO MEDICAL BENIFIT. And most women really don't care that much.
Leave you little guy alone.
It IS NOT BIBLICAL. Clear referenses in ACT, GALSEANS and EPHESEANS make it clear that circumsision is not needed or even warrented.

I would not do it especailly at this age there are no medical benefits or they would cover under insurance. When we were younger it was the norm to circumsize and I think that is why women our age like circumsized men but now your child would be the different one as more people are not doing it. I personally would prefer an uncircumsized penis. I really dont think you will find a doctor who will do it at this age anyway.

Really, it all comes down to you because you can find medical literature that supports either camp. Not being circumsized makes it harder for him to clean himself, harder to wear a condom, and more prone to sexual infections, including HIV because of the amount of sensitive skin. But being careful and having good hygiene combat those issues.
As for appearance, Americans are mostly used to seeing a circumcized man. Some women find an uncircumsized guy really unattractive, others could care less. So again...it's whatever you feel in your heart is right!

I work in the OR as surgical tech, and I just have a couple of things to clear up for you as to what a few other posts stated that is dead wrong. First off the procedure is not painful like everyone says. I assist in these daily and I hardly ever see a baby cry. I see more of them cry when getting their ver first shots. I'm usually standing right over them while assisting and most of them don't even flinch. Some of them cry, but they start crying even before the procedure has started. Some cry from simply being taken out of the nice warm blanket and sprawled out on the circ table, but they calm down when the overhead light is turned on and they warm up. Some babies just don't want to be put down period. Anesthesia is used upon request of the mother, otherwise it's not typically used because it is not needed. Anyone that knows the anatomy of the penis knows that an infant has no nerve endings in the head of his penis yet, so it does not hurt. This procedure is also not performed, especially in a hospital, in a place where you would have been able to hear it being done. You would not be allowed in where it was being done because it is sterile. As far as finding a doctor to do it you shouldn't have a problem. There is no age restriction on having a circ done. We do them on all ages. I see a lot done on teens and males in their 20's. I also see alot of them done on older males due to complications for infections, lesions, etc. Going to a website to find info on this stuff is not really a good source. Of course the sites that are for it are going to say all it can about how bad it is if you don't and vice versa if you go to a site that is against it and bad it is if you do. I've seen good things come out of having it done and bad things, that's because everybody is different and what might be right for one may not be for another. I had my son done, my choice based on what I have seen. Every doctor, surgeon, etc. that I work with that have sons had it done. It is your decision. You research it and come to your own decision.

Circumcision is a completely optional and largely cosmetic procedure. The health benifits tend to be exagerated - teach hygine and safe sexual choices if you are concerned about infections and STDs. Some women care, and those women have mixed opinions.
As someone else mentioned, it simply isn't as prevasive as it might have been in your youth - so put the locker room nightmares in the wastebin where they belong.
At his age, I would let it go until he's old enough to choose it for himself. He's missed the infant window but is still too young for him to make the decision - let it go until he can understand it.

Leave his little penis alone. He has a foreskin for a reason. Leaving baby boys intact is becoming much more common in this day and age.....it's around 50/50 in many parts of the USA now. If a woman cared appearance-wise, would that be the woman you'd want him to marry? There really are no significant medical benefits.....it's basically cosmetic surgery.

Um, I think it might already be too late. He's a year old already.
I couldn't imagine what that would be like for him experiencing it that already being that old. I circumsized my son but I got it done before he even left the hospital to come home. I would talk to your pediatrician about this one.
Also my son did not go through pain they numbed the area and he did just fine all the way until he healed. I don't understand how people can say it's painful because if it was that horrible I wouldn't of done it in the first place.

Because he is older you should know that the procedure will cause him much pain. That is why the procedure is done at birth usually. Hygiene is not a problem if you are willing to take the extra time to show him how to properlly care for his penis. Also potty training will be an issue because it will be harder a control his aim. And all the ladies out there know that sexually it is a turnoff. Yes it may add length and girth but not many women find the turtle look attractive. For me it was a easy decision to make and we circumsized our son.

My brother is 21 and feels very self conscious about his uncircumcised penis. His concerns were would a woman mind or want to do oral sex on him and other tings of that nature. I also had an uncle who went through the procedure at the age of 24. Your son may begin to feel this way as he gets older and realizes that his is different from others.

Get it done asap. The older he is, the harder it will be on you and him.
Medically I have read all kinds of info that says it's better to be circumcised . Less incidence of STD and other infections.
As a woman, I only have experience with circumcised penises so an uncut man would be a little difficult to get used to.
Plus, if you live in an area where most baby boys are circumcised at birth, your son could be ridiculed in school, gym, etc.
