My baby is 4 months old and I would like to start him on solids somewhere in the next month. Before I do so, I would like to read about feeding. I am totally clueless as to how to start, how much to feed, how much formula to continue, which foods to serve first...etc. Can anyone recommed a book that will help put all of this into perspective for me. I love to read, but am looking for something user friendly. Thank you!

My 7 month old is 21 pounds and 27 inches long. She drinks about 6-7 ounces of formula every 4 hours. She eats a jar of baby food 3 times a day and still wakes up for a bottle at night. The nurse said she is too fat and that i have to be carefull about her weight she can develop juvenile diabetes. But she looks normal too me she is a little on the chubby side. But arent chubby babies normal? Do i have to put her on a diet?

I know, sounds crazy that I'm complaining but my 5 month old baby girl sleeps ALL the time! She won't wake up in the morning until about 11-12 noon. I start trying to wake her up at 8 but usually can't get her up but if I do, shes back to bed at 9 and she'll sleep until 2 and then she takes mountains of naps during the day! She'll finally go to bed at about 8 and wake up at 9, spend time with us until about 12 midnight and then its back to bed for the entire night! I don't mind the schedule, I'm just starting to think somethings wrong! Thoughts?? I've tried a schedule but she won't follow it! Any schedule ideas?

My daughter recently had a huge poop change. She went from pooping once a day, every other day peanut butter like poop to pooping 3-4 times a day mustard yellow watery poop.
She is getting a tooth in, no fever no discomfort. Shes starting to eat different food including vegtables and fruit. I just want a second opinion of if this is normal. And if anyone has gone through the same thing.

The doc said to wait until he was 9 months but he is healthy little guy (only 1 minor cold so far) and we have not identified ANYTHING at all that he is allergic to. He hates baby food so much and just stares at us when we eat our food as if to say, "Mommy please let me have some of that instead of this pureed chicken and rice crap!" So when I got home from work yesterday, I was eating a piece of cheese and he put his little hand out reaching for it. I HAD to give him some. HE LOVED IT - he smiled and laughed!
No strange poops or rashes yet.

My baby's began biting while I breast fed her so I had to immediately stop nursing. At first I would extract just enough milk to ease my discomfort. Now its been about a week and a half and my right breast has a failrly large knot and is extremely painful. I was told that to take Ibuprofen every other day and the milk will dry up. Is this true? What should I do about the knot? I'm scared.

My daughter has just been diagnosed with severe acid reflux. Does anyone have any tips on what to do to keep her from spitting up so much? Also, if your baby has acid reflux what has your doctor prescribed for them. Has the medicine caused any weird side effects?

My nephew is 5 months and was born a month premature. He can sit on his own without support for about 5 min. at a time. He can also stand up holding on to a short table for about a min. at a time with out support as well. He rarely will sit on or laps. He always wants to stand up. He has been doing that for about 2 months with support. I was just wondering if this is normal or is he moving a little faster that average. Thank you!
