$400/month for full time. My sister watches him...it's a STEAL! I try to throw in extras here and there - a 6-pack or her favorite beer every few Friday's, dinner, gas cards, etc.
Daycare centers in my area would be $1400/month.

I babysit, and I get anywhere from $12-$20p/h. the $20p/h were for "well-off" parents. I had a steady job for the past 3 1/2 years for one child who was 3 and now 6, and I got $15p/h and worked 25 hours a week, which came to $375.00 a week guaranteed, with paid personal days. I live in NJ. The only reason why I stopped that job was because I am having a child.

It depends on the age, The younger the more expensive. Is the same same in all states????? I have a 3 year old, I pay $120 and when she turns 4 it will be $120. Shop around different day cares charge differently.

Depends on the age of the kid. Rates are higher for < 1 year.

Here is what I pay per month

4 1/2 year old = aprox $800/month
1 1/2 year old = aprox $1200/month

My kids are in a daycare.

I only work part time, so my friend only has my daughter for about 5 1/2 hours. I pay her $20 a day and give her the extra money for if they are going out somewhere for lunch or to play that you have to pay for.

well i dont pay nothing. im a stay home mom thank god if i had to pay child care that would really brake my bank. but i checked into it. about 100-150 wk for 1 kid my neighbor he pays 65 a wk. boy im glad i have a wonderful husband. but i will be going back to work after there all in school all day but maybe sooner!!! i have 3 kids!! and i love being home with them atleast i can say im raising them myself. i mean i can understand if u cant but it is great. i would really think about staying home if i was u. thats if u can. they grow up way to fast. even a paert time job aint bad if u can do that. i have done that with my first kid he worked in the mornings and me in the evenings that will give u time with the little one on one and the daddy one on one. just a thought!!

I used to work at a daycare, in a nicer neighborhood, and I believe for the full week everything included (breakfast, lunch, snacks, etc.) it was around $350 a month, so probably about $125 or so a week. Not sure for a baby, probably less than that. I would call around to different daycares in your area and ask them. Primrose is a good one, and I used to work at Children's Courtyard if they have them in your area I can highly recommend them.

Just a thought, but why don't you stay at home with your child? I was reading some of the responses and it seems like day care is way expensive!!!!! I have three children and I stay at home with them. Unless you make a better than great salary, it seems that they only thing you go to work to pay for is day care. Doesn't that defeat the purpose? I understand if you HAVE to work but you should consider staying at home. It is really great!!!!! Whatever you decide, Good Luck!!!

In Boston, MA suburbs we pay $247/wk for one child. This is a reduced rate, since she became a toddler, as an infant we used to pay $294!. This is actually on the LOW END for professional centers in our area.

I pay $100 for my daughter to attend a home daycare. I would pay a nanny somewhere between $450-500 a week.
