A good age to put a baby in a jumper is at 4 months (as long as they he/she has decent control of neck and head). Your baby might not jump much at first, but it will get the baby used to an upright position (and give you a little break from standing him/her on your lap). It might take a week or so for the baby to get the concept of jumping, but once he/she does....it will be loads of fun. If you do want to start with it young...I suggest the floor jumper (as opposed to the doorway one). The reason for this is that the floor ones usually have toys and lights and music attached. This way your little one will have something to do even if he/she is just standing.

Depends on if you mean a floor jumper or one that hangs on the dorrway. I guess it really doesnt matter though. Well whenever they can hold their head up really well and not fall over then the jumper is fantastic. my daighter loved it. A fun age to put them in one is about 6 or 7 months.

Check the box on your jumper. It should provide you the minimum age, but keep in mind the baby needs to have good control of the head and neck muscles.

when the baby is able to hold his/her head up safely is best.
It also depends on how safe the parents feel their little one is, if he/she is placed in the chair and becomes jelly like, more then likely their not ready.
keep in mind every child's development is different, average is 6 months, however, my eldest daughter started sitting in the jumper at 4 months and loved the feel of the ground under her toes.
At 4 months, the chair may be a bit big for their tiny bodies, if you have "triangles" you may want to try placing one on each side to sortof "fit" him in and make him feel a little more secure. (similar to giving the feeling of being held)

I started using mine, which was the doorway kind, when my daughter could start sitting up on her own. She never had any problems in it and she absolutely loved it. It is great because it wears your baby out so he/she will sleep better! I do agree with Danni though, that the baby should have good control of his/her neck and head.

Yeah, I had this relation, and she wanted to buy one before the baby was born!! I told her there was other things we could get that were more important at the time for his birth. Of course, she argued~that is why we aren't together. That was something, I thought, that we could have bought later..

We started using ours at 4 months...our son (7 months now) LOVED it! He's a little bored with it now but he still loves jumping when you're holding him!
