Jordan Ashley
...many people are saying that is more of a girl's name nowadays. And with the last name being Ashley they may assume Jordan will be a girl. Any opinions?

He loves Blues Clues, Dora, and Baby Einstein, but I recently read that the AAP recommends that infants under 2 years of age never watch tv. He sleeps, plays with toys, reads books, eats, and excercises for several hours of the day, but what am I supposed to do the rest of the time if he can't watch any movies? Oh, and maybe the AAP has forgotten that there are things I need to get done during the day too! I need suggestions!

My husband and I have been trying for 2 years to have a baby. We are due in February with our first child! As you can imagine we are very excited. However, we were advised by our reproductive doctor that since we have the right recipe we should return to her in early Spring if we want to try for a second child. We took some time off this past April and went on two vacations and the next month when we resumed treatment we were pregnant!
We want to try for a second in late May with out doctor. My husband wants to go away to Mexico for a week before we start treatments back up. He knows how much of a physical toll as well as mental it takes on me and now we will also have a newborn to care for. My parents have offered to care for child while we away. My mom and dad have plenty of experience with children so I am not worried about that. We would take a direct flight so in case we had to return we would get home as fast as possible. Is it too soon to leave a newborn? Thank you!

I have a baby bed that converts into a toddler bed. My daughter hates it but loves to sleep in a regular bed. She's only 17 months old and refuses to sleep in it at all. Should I convert her bed to a toddler bed and try that? I have an 11 year old but he always slept by himself. I am out of options and want her out of my bed!!!

My husband think I am spoiling my baby. Is it bad that I pick her up after 5 or 10 minutes of crying?? Even if her diaper isnt wet or she isnt hungry? Isn't she too young yet to be left alone?

My daughter is almost a year( on the 30) I put her on whole milk about a week ago...before that she has been on nutramigen ( a hypoalergenic formula that has no cows milk in in.) I thought by now she would be grown out of the allergy. Well anyways when I put her on the milk she got very fussy and diarea. (I kept her on it for about 4 days) she kept the diarea and fussyness. I then switched her to a lactos free milk and she has been still fussy and diarea and she has started throwing up. I need to know what else is there for her to try and if there is anyone who has had a similar problem?? I am going to see the doc today but I just need your advice.

I don't want people jumping on here critisizing me for letting my son cry it out, I don't need to explain myself to you people, so I won't. Basically my question is when I put my son down for a nap and he only sleeps for like 20 minutes and wakes up crying, do I only comfort him and then leave him to go back to sleep, or do I get him up and try for a nap again at a later time? He did this yesterday, I got him up and he was still tired, when I tried to give him a nap later it was HELL trying to get him to go to sleep.

My daughter is almost 4 months old and I am trying to give her medicine that the doctor gave me for her ear infection. Everytime I try and give it to her she spits it all up and I'm concerned that she's not getting any of her medicine! I have tried several different ways, I'll put it in her mouth and close her jaws but she won't swallow. I have also tried putting it all the way back by her throat and she still won't swallow. She also congested really bad due to a cold and I'm trying to give her that medicine from the doctor too! It all ends up on the front of her shirt! What should I do?! I do not give her any other food besides breast milk and formula so putting it in baby food is not an option, and I can't figure out what to do.....

I'm sure this is crazy, but I was just wondering if this was possible at all? I would like to, but like I said, its been 2 months since I had my baby. I breastfed him in the hosp and that was it. I had breastfed my daughter before that for a bit and got Mastitis and a whole bunch of infections and wound up in the hosp. So when my nipples starting bleeding with my son while at the hosp I just freaked out and stopped. My milk has been gone for a month now. I'm sure you can't. But wish there was a way. ANyone know of anything? And feel free to call me crazy to even think there was a way to get this back. I just wish I would've continued... Thanks!

I am curious if anyone has used the XL Bjorn and what size you were and how well it worked for your size. My husband is a bigger guy, also my mother (who does her day care in our home) is larger and I was thinking of buying this for them. Thanks for any help!!

My husband and I love taking walks, but since we have had my daughter (10 weeks old) we really have not gotten out much. We were wondering if its okay to take her out in the cold this winter (she would be bundled of course). Is she too young to be out in the cold weather? What is too cold?
