Bluntly put, but I understand your concern.
Your girlfriend should be careful of what she puts in her body. Whatever she eats or drinks the baby is essentially eating or drinking.
She shouldn't smoke, drink any alcohol, or do any drugs.
She should eat lots of veggies, whole grains, dairy, protien, and take her prenatal vitamins.
Careful not to eat certian kinds of fish, like shark, mackrel, too much tuna, (among some others I can't remember right now) as they have mercury in them and can cause disabilites.
She shouldn't eat soft cheeses like feta, brie, blue cheese... or eat anything with raw egg in it like cake or cookie batter, or even cesar salad dressing. That can have a bacteria in it (a friend of mine had a disabled baby becuase of this.. and she was trying to be careful!!!)
The best way to help brain development is by proper nutrition and getting educated. Sign up for a "first baby" class at a hospital or clinic. It will be the best thing you can do for your baby at this point.

Retards aren't born. They're raised by ignorant parents who obsess over labels and can't see beyond the disabilities and birth defects other people may have.
Keep your girlfriend away from cigarettes and alcohol, have her eat well, and hope for the best. But regardless of how the kid comes out of the womb, love it unconditionally.

And this has what to do with bikes? Based to your query I'm guessing the little one can be mildly retarded seeing that of the gene pool it is coming from so I would not fear an excessive amount of approximately the bong hits, bruises, and so forth.

You all can have the baby tested while still in the womb. And also have blood work done on yourselves, to make sure there's nothing you can pass on to the baby. ALso find out if you have people in your family, that have "issues" trace back a couple of generations.

It's genetics silly. However, get mom on prenatal vitamins and make sure she has plenty of fresh veggies, fruit and water.. fish is good and so is any white meat. Limit the meat intake though. Limit the sugar... Congratualtions Dad!

Ask her OB/GYN about pre-natal vitamins. Citracal, in my opinion, is the best. Make sure she gets enough folic acid in her diet - she should eat a lot of spinach and other dark greens. Make sure she doesn't get stressed a lot. Other than that, it's all up to luck!

Depends on how pregnant she is, but as of today, no alcohol is one way to avoid fetal alcohol syndrome. As for retardation, that's pretty well set by now.

donty eat fish, smoke, drink alcohol, or suffer physical trama.
All the folic acid the baby needs it already got before she got and new she was pregnant. But taking a prenatal ensures she has enough of everything for her body.

Have your girlfriend take care of her self, go to the Doctors, and you support her every way you can, Makes sure your girlfriend is not doing anything unhealthy, such as smoking, if you both smoke, you can quit with her
