It's good that she's still taking formula, and no harm that she's still on stage 1 baby foods. Although tell her grandma it's time to move on! But yes, at that age, she should still be feeding mostly formula, very gradually expanding her diet to other foods.
Regarding abovementioned "man-made crap" and "nature intended" - hey, do some research first, will ya! Nature did not intend many things, for example, growing many kind of fruit in winter! All "natural" fruit and veggies sold in stores, if not in season, contain pesticides. Baby food companies usually know where to buy supplies that contain a lot less chemicals, so at this stage, try buying food instead of making it yourself. Or go with organics, but don't forget that organic food may lead to botulism!

My kids were both eating baby rice & oatmeal cereals stage 1 fruits and veggis till 6 months. Then stage 2 veggies and fruits added at 6 months. At 9 months we could add the meats. It's to be careful with allergies.
Baby puffs (gerber)are great too as snacks getting baby ready for bigger solids. They start to slow down their formula intake. My doctor also said no juice or milk until 1 yr. old. I found that my kids did well with no juice. I saw lots of other kids drinking juice and not wanting to eat anything. They fill up on the sugar and stop eating well. I still only give them juice 1-3 times a month. They just don't need it. Kids are 2 1/2yrs and 13 months old.
Check out www.gerber.com and they have great guidelines there.

My son is 8 months old. At about 6 months most babies start on stage 2 foods and about 8 months stage 3. Formula is important but at this age babies only really need it about every4-6 hours because their main source of food is usually baby food. Which is good because it keeps them full and gives alot of nutrition. My sons main source of food is the baby food and cheerios and veggies. Formula only about 3 maybe 4 times a day, only about 4 ounces
Your baby is definately old enough to be eating 3 meals a day and small snacks...It will keep her much more satisfied then formula...this comes from my own advice and what my doc has told me.......good luck

This all depends on what she is eating. She sould still be using formula or breastmilk for the first year. This will be more of to drink. By this age I was giving cereal at breakfast, fruit or veggies at lunch and dinner like foods at night. I breastfed so I was nuring between meals so she sould be taking bottles at this time too. Offer some snacks like fruit or baby crackers. Good luck. Let your mother in law know of the changes and only provide her wiht what you want your baby to be eating.

My daughter gets 3-4 bottles a day. At almost 8 months, she is eating food three times a day. She is on 2nd food, getting ready to start the 3rd foods just as soon as the 2nds are gone from the cupboard. She gets rice/oatmeal cereals twice a day, fruit for bfast, veggies for lunch, cereal before bed. Depending on how hungry she is, sometimes she gets something like a chicken noodle dinner for supper. Good luck.

nicely the solids seem going nicely..besides the indisputable fact that the toddler also desires her breastmilk or formula both between those feedings or for the period of those feedings. My son replaced right into a huge eater and he replaced into already taking solids and almost 8 oz. of milk each hour to 2 hours with the help of that age. yet some little ones are diverse. Definately communicate this with your known practitioner because your toddler desires the formula truly in many circumstances in the course of the day so she receives the acceptable food she desires to develop.

Forget man made CRAP!
Get a Juicer! By fresh fruits and vegetables! Put them thru the juicer. Give your child NATURES Fresh Fruits and vegetables.
That is much more healthier than anything that man makes with all of its additives. Nature did not intend for you to feed your child from boxes or cans!
Too, it is cheaper! You eat the solid fresh fruits and vegetables and your child drinks the same thing as juice!

Talk to your pediatrician. Stage 1 sounds right since they started solids at 6 months. I believe it's 2 oz.. veg & 2 oz. fruit
