It varies alot. If you have a long period of postpartum bleedind, then your period may be slow to come on. If you had a hard birth, or bled alot, that too may cause late period after baby. If you lose too much weight to quickly, or become really anemic, that too could be the cause. Besides, after giving birth, your hormones are all "out of whack". This may take some time to get worked out. I have four children, and my period came back at different times, with each child. I would not worry about, unless you hit the 12 week mark. Even thin, I wouldnt worry, I would just ask my gyno. Congrats on your new baby!

I had a baby boy about 6 months ago, I didn't get my 1 st real period until right after my 6 week check-up. Everyone is different, also don't expect it to be normal right away. I'm still trying to get mine back to normal.

Everyone is different, but mine started the month after I stopped bleeding after the birth. If you are too late and have been cheating and having sex, you should take a pregnancy test. Many people say you are fertile right after you have a baby.

What??? You can get pregnant while on your period...but if you mean why a miscarriage is indicated sometimes by your period it's because the "baby" attaches to the uterine lining which is shed during menstruation.

Any bleeding up to 8 weeks after you give birth, regardless of wether you are breastfeeding or not, is considered post partum bleeing. After that, if you bleed, it is considered your first post-partum period.

I think I got my period two months later. I was breastfeeding either... plus I had a c-section.

My son is almost 11 weeks old and I had my first postpartum period when he was 9 weeks. It is different for everybody though.
