I want to have my tenth month old completely weaned by the time he turns a year old. (or around then) My first son weaned himself at 6 months - I had planned to go the year but he obviously had other plans :) I have been trying to cut back already but not having a lot of luck because he WILL NOT take formula and since he is also on solids he isn't going to get hungry and take the formula anyway. He will drink milk but is not suppose to be strictly on milk until at least 11 mths (according to my pediatrician). Anyway I have never had to wean before and since we are quickly approaching the 11 months I am wondering how to do this? He is only feeding once in the morning, 1 before his nap, once after his nap, and then again before bed. Do I cut one at a time? Or all of them? And how long do you wait before you cut out another? Do I just let myself get engorged? I know it is fine to breastfeed after a year and I don't have any problem with people that do. But this is something that I am just personally not comfortable with. He has 4 teeth and is cutting the fifth so I am already doing ALOT of gritting of my teeth from him scraping so much. Are there any good sites with this kind of info??

Has anyone ever heard about buying a breast pump from an actual clinic where if you had Medi-cal, they would take up to 75% off the price of the breast pump?

My ob/gyn said there is only one birth control pill I can take while breastfeeding and that I would have to make sure I took it at the exact same time everyday!! Has anyone taken it? And has it failed anyone?

My daughter is 3 months old(who has medical issues) I also have a 3 year old son (who I dont think I am being a very good mother too) I am just not spending enough time with him and I find myself snapping at him a lot. I do not want to go on any medication for postpartum. Does anyone have any ideas of what I can do to feel better on my own??

My 4 week old baby daughter is doing really solid, harmed and formed poops. The midwife on a parent helpline suggested giving her a teaspoon of brown sugar dissolved in 30ml of cooled boiled water, before her next three bottles. How long should it take for my baby to start feeling better?

She was born with 2 teeth, and now at least 2 more are trying to come in. The only time she is somewhat satisfied is when she is nursing or has her passifier, but that doesnt always work...

I am really worried that it will make him really really sick.I left my folder on the couch while my son played on the floor.Well I didn't realize he got a folded up note that had fallen to the floor and by the time I noticed he was gagging it was far into the back of his throat. He didn't choke, thank God but he swallowed it and I feel so guilty. Please some one tell me his digestive system will be able to pass it and he won't get sick.

Did your newborn go right to a crib, weather it was in your room or his/hers, or did they use a bassinet first?

For some reason a bassinet seems like a waste of money, since he'll use it for like 2 months only, and they are like $100, but a crib seems too big, I dont know what to do.

My 6 week old for the past two days has been very cranky. He hasn't went poop either so I asume he is constipated. What can I do to help him? There is no meds for this in his age group.

It seems like the only logical thing to do, especially when the girl is 16 or younger. And maybe 'Mr. Impregnator' is nowhere to be found. There are thousands of nice married couples who can't make a baby & they would provide for it well. While a young girl can't provide much of anything & it just seems so selfish to keep it.

I have a 2 month old and I was wondering when I should start using the level 2 nipples on him. For now, he is using level one - that came with the 2 and 4 oz bottles. He wants to have more than 4 oz at times and I am using the bigger 8 oz bottles. So, when do I start the level 2 nipples? and then level 3? and ofcourse what is c and y style nipples? I wish the package said what ages for what levels...anyway, can someone help me out?? Thanks!!

My wife and I are at our wits end. We have a 4 month old baby who for the most part is a great little guy. Problem is, he never sleeps! Not more than an hour or so at a time, no exaggeration.
He is not bottle fed, so it's hard to say how much he is actually eating, so now it seems like he is using the feedings to help him sleep.
Any help is appreciated, we need some sleep!

I'm a new mum of a 2 week old. We had attachment problems with her latch in the hospital which ended up with me having cracked nipples. We've fixed the latch problems now, but my nipples are still sore when she latches on, but then they are fine throughout the feeding. How long does this take to heal? I am using Lansinoh cream which is helping a bit (I think).

My son is 10 months old and I still use baby wash/shampoo. I was wondering at what age do I start using adult or kids shampoo and soap on him? My sister in law uses regular soap on her 22 month old and it makes her skin really dry and wouldn't the adult shampoo burn a childs eyes?
