I always fed my daughter fennel tea (boil 16 oz water, add @ 12 fennel seeds, turn off heat, let seeds steep for 5 min then take them out & let the water cool to luke warm before feeding) I got this advise from my friend's mother who was a mid-wife in Europe. Its great for contipation & gas, works for adults, too.

I think 48 hours is fine, but my doctor told me to mix a tsp of Karo syrup with 4oz of warm water. Hope this helps, Merry Christmas!!

Every baby is different, if yours is happy and not straining to go to the bathroom or fussy than I would leave her alone. Not every baby poops daily or even every other day. If she becomes fussy than you can stimulate her rectum with a thermometer or give her half prune juice to half water.

my pediatrician recommended that I give the baby sugar water (4 oz. of water to 1/2 tsp. sugar) for constipation...It has always worked like a charm 6 years & 4 kids later!

Good Luck!

you can give her juice, water it down 1part juice 1 1/2 parts water. Try and keep the fluids up as much as possible. See your doc if it gets bad, they might suggest a suppositry for infants to help things along.. Also really keep up the fibre

It's okay to not poop in 48 hours if she is not in pain, the poop is not hard when she does go, and she does not have to strain excessively to have a BM. You don't need to do anything yet.
