don't use anything on baby acne, it'll clear up on it's own.

It sounds like a newborn rash from both the lotion and Vaseline. Don't put anything on her face, not even soap. Babies have very sensitive skin that breaks out easily. It will all heal in a couple days just remember not to pick or pop anything. Also for the future don't put sun block on her face too. She will again break out. Use a hat or keep her in the shade. Good luck!

OMG! I just read that response to use proactive on your baby! Please DO NOT! If you're breastfeeding, she might be having a reaction to something you ate. If you're not, it might be the soap, shampoo, laundry detergent, who knows, but the other people are right, do nothing. If you don't want to, or can't, see your doctor for peace of mind prior to the 27th, give him a call. The other thing you can do is "google" for an answer, check your medical insurance card and see if they have a nurses hotline. Mine does, you call, and a nurse listens to your problem, and let's you know if it's something to be concerned about. It's a free service. If all else fails, and you're not getting the answers you need, call the hospital you had her at and ask a nurse there, or your lamaze class instructor. There are so many people out there who will understand that you're concerned about your little one.

Good Luck!

A newborn's skin is still adjusting and will for about another 2 weeks. Don't worry too much, it will clear up. Avoid lotions and vaseline, as they contains petroleum and other chemicals that clog the skin and make it worse. The best thing is just to wash it with a mild baby soap and room temp water.

I would leave it for a day or so and see if it gets any better on its own. If it doesn't you should find out if your hospital has a nurse line you can call. They will be able to tell you if you need to bring her in. They can also give you tips on how to make it better. If it gets worse you can always take her to an urgent care clinic and they will see her right away. If you have a copay on your insurance they may charge you more for an urgent care visit but it will be worth it to make sure she is ok. If your hospital doesn't have an urgent care clinic there may be another near you that does. Your insurance may be able to give you some suggestions or you can google it online.

I once woke up and found my son covered in red pimples like the ones you are describing, he had over 20 on his face! I took him to the doc afraid it was chicken pox and it was neonatal acne. I believe it is caused by the babies hormones after birth although my sons lasted until he was about six months. They gave me some face cream to put on and it usually got rid of them after 24 hours or so. My friends also like to grab it out of his diaper bag and use it on their zits bc its so good. If you want to get him into the doc sooner just tell them you think its chicken pox, thats what i did. lol

It is perfectly normal. It is caused by what is probably the last of the mothers hormonres leaving the baby's system.

Wash your baby's face with plain water daily. No other treatment is needed. They will go away in a couple of weeks.

Babies are sensitive at this stage until maybe they are a year old. My baby started breaking out also around a month old and now he's three months. You have to watch were you lay your baby: your clothing, blankets and also other people touching him/her. It may sound ignorant but it works: whoever touches your baby make them wash their hands. Try not to kiss your baby so much wit lip gloss or lip gloss. Your pediatrician may prescribe some ointment but other wise watch where your baby skin is placed
