I need help! I know I made a mistake. When my baby arrived from the hospital, the first week was sooo rough, no sleep, and mood swings and lazyness. It seemed so much easier to get my daughter to sleep and to sleep longer when I held her in the bed with me. We fell asleep. After the first time... I thought...geez this is sooo much easier. She slept almost the whole night, waking up maybe once or twice to eat and get her diaper changed. Now I think she is used to sleeping with me...not neccessarily the bed, cause I could be on the couch or on the floor, it doesnt matter, just me! I will lay her down in her crib to sleep and she wakes up and cries untill I get her. I know because of sids and the risks involved with sleeping with me, that I messed up real bad. I cant get her to sleep in her cri though. Any suggestions?

My oldest girl has short hair, by choice. But when ever we go some where she always gets called a boy. Even if she is wearing pink or a dress. The same goes for my baby, if she isn't in pink, people asume that she is a boy. And I know that you are saying well maybe your girls look like boys, but they don't. So what is a good response when this happens?

He is 9 months old. He used to be fine, no problems at all then he started to refuse his tea. I thought that this was because he was tired, so I started to make his tea earlier, which did work for a while. He then started to refuse his lunch and now even refuses his breakfast. He will drink his bottle no problems, and will eat small snacks. I have tried giving him a spoon which worked for a while now he throws it away, then I tried letting him have small chunks to feed himself as well as me feeding him this again worked for a while, but now he won't eat. He will eat yoghurts and fruit purrees but I dont want him to have these all the time and get used to just having these. I really dont know what else to do with him.

I did use jars, but now mostly cook my own meals for him and he has a wide variety so its not like he is bored.

And no 'welcome to motherhood' answers please, I am really not in the mood for them at the moment. I am getting worried now that he is not eating enough

What kind of inexpensive or free things can I do to help her?

I was thinking of making a few meals that she can just pop into the microwave or oven. I was gonna help do her housecleaning as well. This is her first child. I have two kids but no one did anything for me, not even my husband... so I wanted to make sure my sister has a more pleasant experience. I want her to have more time to bond with the baby and get used to breastfeeding without having to worry about cooking for her husband.

Any other suggestions?

My son has never slept through the night and is almost a year old. I have been told that I need to let him learn to put himself back to sleep but check on him every 15 minutes or so when he wakes up crying. So far it hasn't worked. When I have attempted it he is usually crying standing up in his crib, sees me and then he cries harder. He has dinner and a bottle pretty close to bed time each night so I don't think hes hungry. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Can a mother, who is already infected with genital herpes, breast feed her 3 month old baby? Any chance of getting the baby infected through breast milk? She is not having an active outbreak right now.
My second question is in case she develops active infection during her lactation still can she breast feed? What precatuions should she take?
Any medical doctor to answer, please.

-she naps during the day without being fed, but is breast-fed at night
-she used to sleep through the night up until 6 months
- she is put in her crib drowsy, but awake
- we aren't interested in doing the Ferber Method and are looking for alternatives - co-sleeping would be nice to avoid too

My baby is 10mo, can drink from any kind of nipple. What brand of bottle do you prefer? Consider how easy it is to use and clean, how well it deals with the air bubbles problem, durability, etc.
