It all depends on the child...but babies should smile at 2 months -at least both of mine did and that is what the milestones say. Some children walk at this age, others dont. It all depends on the child and the skills he or she has. One baby will do something, and other baby will be doing something else -one will have 2 teeth, another will have 12! :) Its interesting to find out.

At months they should be smiling yes. They should also be rolling over, sitting up, crawling (or well on their way), eating baby food, have a few teeth, starting to pull themselves up into a standing position (or will start in the next month or so).
But this is not true for all babies. They all develop at different stages so if you are worried about your baby then you should talk to your doctor.

By 7-8 months she begins to move, sometimes backwards not forward, or wriggles forward on the stomach. She may not use each leg in the same way, a lopsided shuffle with one knee and the other foot is quite normal. Then she'll figure out how to move forward and backward by pushing off with her knees. Encourage her to practice crawling by placing a colourful thing or toy in front of her just out of reach or sitting a few feet away and calling to her. You must note that many babies never crawl, but may go right ahead with learning to stand and walk. Some may just roll over or push themselves forward in the sitting position to move from one place to another.

Depending on the child's personal development they can smile, laugh, roll around, crawl and pull themselves up. They have motor skills to be able to play with toys. Some babies this age, if taught, can do sign language. They also babble alot and can say Mama or Dada.

By three months baby should be social smiling. He/she should be making meaningful eye contact. By eight months he/she should be initiating conversation with babblling and cooing. Laughter/giggling usually appears around three or four months.
