My son used Avent! He had NO gas at all since the day eh started taking bottles (3 weeks old) I nursed him for 6 months though and he used those kind after!
The are wide mouthed bottles! SOOOOO easy to clean! The nipples are also all different sizes depending on the flow he wants!
I LOVE AVENT and am planning on using them again when I have my second child!

We personally liked the Avent ones. Our son didn't latch on well with the Playtex bottles. You should start trying sippy cups if you already haven't.... the earlier you get them started, the better- maybe put juice for now in them. that's what we did with our son, then when he was a year old, we took the bottles away entirely... took 3 days, but he did great! - our doctor said if you haven't gotten them off the bottle by 15 months, they will become too attached and it will be VERY difficult to get it away.

I like the Playtex nursers, I have used them for all three of my children (tried the vent aire with my middle child and ended up switching because she didn't like the nipple shape). But, they get a clean and sterile drop in every bottle, I haven't had any of them get discolored (the bottle, ring, or nipple), I have never had any of them crack. And, on the plus side, non of my babies have ever had gassiness or spit up problems. My youngest son is five months and with him I actually switched back and forth between the nursers and breast feeding and he never has had a nipple confusion either. I love them.

My kids, who didn't switch from breast to bottle very easily, took to Avent bottles the best. They're pretty easy to clean and are easy to hold because they're so wide. I've used the same bottles for the past three years and they've held up pretty well.

I really liked the ease of the Avent bottles, but I found that they would leak if you didn't get the top on just tight enough. My 2nd child didn't like them anyway, so now we are using Playtex VentAire with the standard nipple. I like them. But even more important the baby likes them.

well for newborns i would suggest you use dr.browns it reduses gas,and you notice the difference from other bottles when the baby is drinking there are little to no bubbles, and the bubbles causes the gas,and colic is worst in baby boys than girls so if you have a boy try the dr.browns bottles,my son is 3months and i still use it,trust me it works he only had colic for 3weeks and it wasn't even that bad and i honestly believe the bottle helped...........and if your baby has gas you could also ask his/her doctor about using new infamil for babies with severe gas

Get the ones that have plastic inserts. Not the bags but the inserts that just drop in. They are so much easier than the bags and of course all you have to wash is the nipple, cap, ring, and outside cover.

Its been a while but I used the Playtex brand. I'm sure they have 50 different kinds now. If I'm not mistaken I think my mom used them on us kids too.
