In my opinion they are not fit mothers and shouldn't be left with the responsibility of raising a child in a safe and responsible manner.

If a baby is warm, fed, not apparently ill, freshly changed, being held etc etc why would they cry? Do you think its possible that babies cry to release pent up stress as well as to communicate their needs?

I am having a hard time here. My son is 15 weeks, he was born at 9lbs 8 oz. Im guessing his weight now is like 15-16 lbs. But at night is usually when he wants to eat the most. I do give him rice cereal starting this week and he does great! ( at night). But like last night he went to bed at eight and was up at 12:00- 2:00am 4:00am and then 8:00. Im confused why he needs to drink a 6oz bottle every two hours. During the day he doesnt drink that much. Sometimes he will go from like eight till two in the morning. Like the first stretch of sleep is the longest. I dont expect him to sleep through the night, but not understanding why he needs to eat so much at night. I also try to see if he will go to sleep, but he will go into full out cries. Any help?

My baby is 6 months old and is solely on formula milk. I want to stop breast feeding and wean him. How should I go about it? I'm a working mum and have never used a breast pump. They are very expensive and not so readily available. The problem is my boobs get so full and begin hurting as well as dripping with milk especially if I take tea or have lunch at work in the course of the day, such that I cant wait to get home and feed him. Please advice. How can they stop getting so full and hurting?

Does anyone else think it's weird that when you go on maternity, you only get 50% of your wages. Shouldn't the father's contributions to EI top it up? I mean it takes two to make and raise a baby, plus then the guy could take leave too, or choose to donate his 50% to the mom instead. I just think it's dishonest of the government to deny both parents the same right to be with the baby together instead of one or the other. If it must be one or the other, the benefits should pay to the parent staying home.

Long time ago, there was a girl called Parmalee in my class. The name sounds cute to me, so that's why I still remember it (and her face too). Since, I've not met/heard anyone with this name. Why is this name so unpopular? or is it even a name? (I'm sure it's a name; otherwise, that girl wouldn't have existed in my class) I'm thinking about naming my future daughters or twin girls as Emmalee and Parmalee. What ya think? I've heard that Emmalee should be spelled as Emma Lee, and why is that?

I was wondering if it's true that pacifires cause SIDS? I've heard that they help prevent it and I've heard that they cause it. Whats everyones opinion on that? S.I.D.S terefies me so much I dont know what I'm going to do when my baby is born. I'm going to be a wreck being so paranoid. Not to mention my baby is going to be born in winter, and I read on the SIDS site that most babies die in the winter becuase there parents overdress them.

I used the Ameda Purely Yours pump w/my daughter and the motor did NOT last very long at all and I had to pump exclusively (just pump, not putting the baby to the breast). I will pump exclusively again so I need a pump that will allow me to pump as often as I need. Thanks in advance for your advice and any help you can offer. I am currently considering the Medela Pump in Style Advanced pump bcuz of the reviews. Thanks again.

I live in Ga and I have a 1 month old. I have decided that her first name is terrible, I had no idea I would have so many problems with it. I thought it was a beautiful name. But now I would like to change it for free, without going through the courts and as if the other name never existed... Is there anything I can do? Who should I contact?

How high can a fever get for a teething baby?

My 12 month old son had been running about 99.7-101 F for the past 2 days. Unless I give him Tylenol it stays high and as soon as it wears off it goes right back up. I'm taking him to the Dr. in the morning. He's never ran fever like this for teething and I'm afraid it's something more. I was just wondering if teething will make it go that high.
Thanks.
