A baby really doesn't have to crawl.Just keep a close eye on him as he pulls himself up.My daughter was pulling herself up very well until the day her legs gave out and she plunged straight down, catching her two front teeth on the edge of the coffee table. That cramped her style for a couple days, let me tell ya.

My girl was very much the same. She preferred to concentrate on walking and didnt care so much for crawling. This is an optional milestone anyways. If you have a happy baby who can get around by other means (like rolling) you should be happy she isnt making life even more difficult by adding crawling just yet. Once they do, watch out!! She's 11 mths now and crawls just fine, it sorta happened in a day or two. They surprise you how fast they pick something up.

Hi,

I am also a mother of a four year old daughter, Its absolutely normal and if the baby is trying its a good sign.... no need to worry , usually most of the babies directly start walking it is not imperative that the baby should crawl first.

Enjoy every moment of of your baby's growth.

If your baby is pulling up by its self than you have nothing to worry about because it just skipped a phase but if not then you need to ask your doctor to refer you to an development place. Dont panic some babies just like to take there time but at 10 months your baby should be crawling.

Ther are babies that never crawl. They skip this and go straight to walking. It is ok. Don't measure your baby with other babies. They all develop at a different pace. The baby sounds healthy and happy. He/She will walk or Crawl when they are ready. P.S try to have the camera ready.

yes, it is absolutly normal, some babies never crawl and start walking, some like to crawl and do not want to walk for a while. If baby seems happy you should have no worries.

Every baby reaches milestones at a different pace. Infact, crawling isn't an actual milestone because of the huge range of ages babies will reach it. I looked it up when my baby was younger as well. Don't worry about it. Some babies don't even crawl at all.

Don't worry, some babies do not walk until 12 months or even after that. If not walking by 18 months then I would talk to a pediatrician about it. Yours is trying to pull up and may be walking within a month or so, it sounds like!
