Babies cry because that's the only way they communicate.
If they have been fed, cuddled, changed and all of that then it's ok to let them cry. And you have to let them cry to disinguish the different cries. Each cry is different.
Alot of moms think that as soon as the baby is crying they are hungry and they feed them...(and babies first reflex is sucking so they will suck anything you put in their mouths! and that's another reason why some keep feeding their baby all day all nite!)...AND that's why there are so many supersize babies out there! Or they stick the pacifiers in their mouths to pacifiy them cuz they can't handle the baby cyring....
or don't know how to comfort their own babies....
Babies crying does not mean they are not happy..............
It's ok to let them cry.........
They're just communicating!

Often being overstimulated causes the 'releasing pent up stress' you mentioned. The most common reason I found with my baby though is that she had a little burp hidden away somewhere.
Check out:
Seven reasons babies cry and how to soothe them
This is the BEST article I ever found on this topic!!
When I brought my newborn home I printed it out and posted it by the change table as a reminder (like a check list.) Then when my baby would cry (and I couldn't figure out why) rather than getting frustrated I'd go consult the list. (Half the time on the walk there the baby would stop crying - she just needed a change of scenery. Plus when we got there I'd give her a little 5 minute baby massage and she loved it.)
Good luck!

It's their only way to communicate, and maybe they are trying to tell you something you havent thought of yet. Perhaps a tag from their clothing poking them, or they are tired and need help to fall asleep. I think you're right, and they do cry to release sensory overload. Try a dark, quiet room with soft music playing if this happens. I found my daughter typically more likely to cry 'for no reason' at the end of the day just before she fell asleep for the night. I would still hold her though even if that didnt seem to help much because I wanted her to feel safe. This is when she was still a newborn - as she got older (around 6 mths) I would let her try to calm herself for a few min. before helping her. I'm a firm believer you cant spoil a baby less than 6 mths.

A baby crys cause it dosent know anything else. When a child can speak they tell you whats wrong. Its a natural response for everything.
The best thing for us was not to have stress. I always keep stress way out of the way.
When we get tired and stressed they feel it. Just like when your man comes home and dosent want to speak to us. We get upset. Babys also can feel that.
I hope you work it out what ever. No one is an expert on raising children. remeber that.

Sometimes maybe just because it's the only way they know how to use their voice. They can feed off your stress. They can have a reaction to something a breastfeeding mother has eaten and get very uncomfortable. They could have colic. They might be tired it could be anything... Accept that sometimes you just wont know why baby cries..... I understand that crying for up to 3 hours per day is not abnormal........... good luck...

Some babies are just criers. My son was like like, he cried all the time, he/she will soon stop, I promise. But that's what they do. You might want to take him to the doctor just to be safe. He could have colic (a stomach ache all the time) and you may not know it. Try some gas drops, they can take them when they are first born up until childhood. That worked for me sometimes.

Could be a stomach-ache. Sometimes the harder they cry the more air gets brought into their tummy and it hurts. Personally, I don't think babies really stress out.

A baby's only way of communication is crying. Spend as much time as you can figuring out how to sooth your baby, this way you know all his/her reasons.

May be your baby has colic. is the gas just after you feed him/her. the gas is very uncomfortable and pains. try holding the baby on your shoulder for a few minutes and rub his back to release the gas.

Sometimes babies get tired of being held.Or they get overstimulated. Lay it down in a crib for a few minutes so it can relax.
