Newborn & Baby - October 2006

I returned to work this week and have been using a hospital grade double electric breast pump at work so I can give breast milk to my baby's daycare provider. (my baby is 12 weeks old and weighs about 14 pounds) I pump 4 times per day at work and get about 12-14 ounces of milk. My daycare provider gives him that milk plus 1 or 2 bottles of formula during the day. I'm not sure if I should let him have formula. Am I hurting my milk supply by letting the daycare give him formula? If he doesn't get enough milk during the day, can he "catch" up by nursing on demand at home?

Since female circumcision is illegal in the UK, I wondered if the labia rings could be tied together instead.

Jeffrin is a made-up name. To my knowledge, there has only been two others in the U.S. I DO like the name. So many tell me they think it sounds like a boy. What other boys name ends in RIN??

I am due Dec. 8, 2006 and I don't want to bring my son out until he is like a month old but my b/f insists that we bring him out for christmas. Well besides his 2 week shot or other doctors appointments I will bring him out, but I don't really want him out in the cold weather. Am I being to over protective?

I am wondering why it is said not to give a baby cow's milk or egg until they are close to a year old, yet baby food companies make desserts, like baby custard, with these ingredients? I thought even cooked that it was still not ok. What's the deal? (And yes I will consult my physician also!)

My 8month old son is pusing his bottle away. He is cutting his first tooth and i don't know if that has anything to do with it. My husband says that it is time to start feeding him more food and less formula, but the doctors said that the bulk of his diet should be formula until he is a year. My son is also very big, he is 29 inches long and 24lbs. Not a fat baby, just tall and solid. I am worried about decreasing his formula, but he is so determined to not take his bottle, he fights with me every time i give it to him and has only taken two to three bottles in a day where three days ago he was taking atleast six.

She weighs 4lbs 9ounces if that helps. She is two months old, but wasn't due until the end of October. Thanks so much! An online store would be great!
