should i be giving my baby 3 meals a day? My mother tells me he doesn't need 3 meals a day and that 1 heavy meal in the morning (breakfast) and in the night (dinner) is enough. i'm not sure what i should do. right now i am giving him 3 meals a day. Is it too much? too little? our schedule kinda looks like this:
6:30 -- 4 oz milk
9:00 -- 3 tbs cereal and 2-3 tbs fruit
10:00 -- 6 oz milk
NAP
1:00 -- 3 tbs cereal, 2 tbs meat, and 2 tbs veggies and juice
2:30 -- 6 oz milk
NAP
5:30 -- 6 oz milk
7:00 -- 3 tbs cereal, 2 tbs veggies, and some fruit and juice
BEDtime
11:00 -- 6 oz milk

i just really want to know what you guys do/did. thanks!

My son is 6 1/2 months old and when he was 2 weeks came down with a cold that made it very hard for him to breathe and he has slept with us every since then. My husband did not want him to move into his crib but it is time we take back our bed because our son likes to take up a lot of room in the bed now. He is almost always right next to me and I can not sleep very well. I have tried to let him cry himself to sleep in his bed but that did not work. He cried for about 45 minutes and still did not sleep. As soon as I put him in our bed (just to change his diaper he was a little wet) he fell right to sleep. I need some more ways to help with the transition.

My 11 month old daughter has had a diaper rash for just over a week and it looks horrible, all red and tender to the touch. She wears size 3 diapers from Huggies and we change her diaper very often & use Huggies no perfume/alcohol sensitive skin diaper wipes and have applied A&D, Baby Powder, Gerber Zinc Oxide.... which diaper rash treatment have you found to work?

My daughter has been on Similac Advance Soy formula and I had a coupon for a free Nestle Soy and I have heard good things about this brand so I tried it. Since starting the Nestle formula she has been spitting up a lot and acting like it's bothering her stomach. Anyone else have this problem? I thought Nestle was supposed to be gentler on the stomach. Should I go back to the Similac or give it a couple days?

I started my baby on rice cereal like 2 weeks ago he is now 7 weeks old and is starting to want to eat more. He already eats 30mins on the breast at a time. At his night time feeding I pump and he eat cereal in his breast milk. But he is starting to love the cereal. And wants to eat more.Should I start him on baby foods between feedings or is it too early or am I supose to pump every feeding and put cereal in it. or should I start him on baby juice? His doctor doesn't know he's eating cereal at night and wants him to eat every 3 hours and if wants to eat in between get him a water bottle. But the water is no longer making him happy what to do? Please no answers about how good breast feeding is or feed him whenver he wants to eat . I need serious answers from people know know about breast feeding. Noone I know has ever breast fed.

My husband and I have been set on the name Jackson for our soon to be 2nd son, since we found out the sex of our baby... Since then a member of my husband's side of the family (in whome he does not particulary care for) has had a baby boy... and of course........... Named him Jackson... I don't want to assume that this was not just a "coinsidence" since we have made everyone in both of our families very aware of our baby name intentions... but it does seem a little fishy..
Either way...
Would it be tacky to name our baby Jackson? It just feels akward now... What are your opinions?

She's fallen off 3 times. The second time we went to the E.R. and they said she looked healthy and couldn't see anything wrong with her. It's easier for me to breastfeed her in bed with me, Since i don't have a rocking chair. Should i take her to the dr. this time too? What syptoms to look for other than abnormal behavior. I feel like a bad mother. i know it's the bound to happen

it's kinda gross, the color of the umbilical cord, but i don't think people will mind as much if they know why it's that color. My doctor didn't tell me anything when i asked, besides what goes in and out, we all know that already. So i kinda need someone else to help grasp this question.
Thanx

My husband and I recently had our little girl dedicated to the Lord. When she old enough, maybe in her teens or early adult years, she will then be baptized. We wanted her faith and her personal relationship with God to be her choice. Some kids, I feel, get dunked for the wrong reasons and then don't live up to their baptismal duties. What do you think?

I've been breastfeeding my son for six months. It's been going well, with the occassional hiccups. However, we've managed to get this far. He is my first baby and my first experience breastfeeding. So, I'm still a little nervous...

My breasts don't feel as full as they did early on. I notice now they feel almost normal. But, I'm still lactating. Could I be losing my milk? Or, is my body getting used to this?

He typcially has 3 - 4 servings of solids per day. Oatmeal (he doesn't like the rice) cereal account for at least two. And, homeade fruit/veggie account for the other two.

Thanks in advance!

My baby is 2 wks and 2 dyas old. SHe drinks 4 oz every 2 hrs consistently and wants more. She has a very healthy appetite. I was wondering if I could start putting just a little bit of rice cereal in her bottle to fill her up or is it too early? I did it with my other daughter at 6 wks but this baby eats great and never seems to get enough. My husband says it's too early I just want to know if I should wait or just give her a littl bit.

My little boy is 11months old. Four days ago we started using the Ferber method. We were not sure about it but he has not slept a whole night once yet he has always gotten up at least twice a night. Well I guess that I didn't read up enough on it because while I was in the same room (he didn't realize it though) I just let him cry it out I never actually went to him in interverls to sooth him. I could see him so i knew that he was okay and not hurt making himself sick. After three nights of him crying for about 1hr & 10 min he slept through the night without a peep . Each morning he woke up happy and laughing. Since I never actually "soothed" him personally will this hurt if that i just let him cry. I AM WORRIED PLZ HELP...... THANK YOU

I have a 2-year-old that I have to make some time for. I can barely set the baby down long enough to get myself a snack (much less a meal) & yet I am supposed to find time to cook for my daughter & clean the house??? I haven't had an unrushed shower or bath since my newborn was born 13 days ago. HELP!

PS: If you suggest having my husband help out, that doesn't help. He's not very helpful at all.

I have an 8 year old and a 2 month old. I can't remember when my son started teething since it was so long ago. My daughter now will be 3 months on Sept. 10th, she is drooling a lot and has also started to suck her hand. She seems a bit more cranky now - Does that mean she can be teething?
