That is too early. You do not want the baby to develope allergies or to have the cereal to clog their throat while the swallowing reflux is still developing. Doctors will tell you that this practice is simply not a good idea at all, but real mother will tell you otherwise. I did it around 3 months old, and I only did it in the bottle before bed in the evening to tide her over till morning. It helps, but do not do it too early.

Experts recommend NOT putting it in the bottle unless the doctor has told you to. # 1 there is a risk of the baby choking on it, #2 the baby can over eat and become obese. #3 a baby should not receive anything other than breastmilk or formula until at LEAST 4 months. Some doctors say to wait until 6 months. Feeding solids too early...even cereal, can lead to childhood/adult obesity, and diabetes. My mom started all of us kids on cereal at 3 weeks 3/4 of us are diabetic w/weight problems and the 4th is pre-diabteic.

i think you should wait until the baby is at least 4 months old, it is too early. right now your daughter needs all the nutrients from the milk, not the empty calories from cereal. i know it can be tough, my daughter has never drank more than 4 oz at a time (she still doesnt and she is 1) but she eats very often. for a while there i felt like all i did all day was feed her, it will get better though. do your baby a favor and wait a little while before you give her cereal.

Eating every 2 hours is normal behavior. Babies have small tumies and need to eat often.
Cereal is not as nutritious as formula or breastmilk, and giving it too early can cause health problems both now and later in life. For example, giving rice cereal too early increases the risk of diabetes.
Cereal in a bottle is not recommended at all. If your baby is too young to eat cereal with a spoon, she is too young to eat cereal.

I think it may be a tad too early. If you really want to give it a try you should talk to your ped. I'm thinking at this point it will only provide extra calories and her little tummy may not be able to digest it. And eating every 2 hours is pretty normal for newborn. I would increase the amount of formula to maybe 6 oz and see how she does on that.

honestly from the medical point of view for the 1st 4 months just keep breast feedin and as u said it seems ur little baby has more of an appetite which is a good thing but u need to supplement after properly breast feedin her use milk preperations - u can ask for their names down at pharmacies or thru ur pediatrition... but avoid cow milk though can cause allergies cause enzymes in baby's digestive system aint well developed yet
last but not least after the age of 4 months u can start with cereal and all the rest of the stuff bit by bit- except eggs though try to stay from those till baby is one yr old
hope this helps
(p.s thing is durin the 1st year of development breast feedin is perfect cause it consists of all nutrients and body requirements for normal health growth and development for the baby)

As a nurse, I can tell you that 2 weeks is to young. So is six weeks! If she is not getting full, try 6oz every two hours. Is the baby fussy? She may not really be hungry at all. If her tummy hurts she may want the comfort the bottle brings, not the milk. Before taking any advice, ask your babys doctor.
