My husband, the teacher, says: It's a homework assignment. Go get a small package of each and test for aborbancy. For example, one diaper each pour one ounce from a measuring cup and see how much it leaks. Keep on trying it with different diapers adding an ounce to each test group. You can use a whole pack of diapers this way.
Remember to write up your lab report. Also, since this is homework, you're teacher is going to want to know how you came up with your answer.

Absorbancy helps, but.... I like diapers that fit well around the legs to prevent leaking from the top of they're thighs while they're on their back or on their tummies. And at the same time that's not gonna cut off her circulation to her legs. so stretchiness helps too! I've yet to try White Diaper, but luvs are okay, not very stretchy at the tabs though. I like the swaddlers til she grows out of them(they only fit up to size 3) then I will go on to huggies supreme.

Weeeeeeellllllllllllllllll....... I use(d) both brands. White Cloud and Luvs. White Cloud absorbs better, but Luvs contains the urine better (hence the "no leak guarantee"). When I say this, I look at it this way: White Cloud actually have more "padding", but Luvs has the protective plastic coating on the outside. Hmmmm....hard one. I used White Cloud in my sons younger days, and before he got potty trained, I switched to Luvs, since he peed so much more.

I have to agree with the lady above me Luvs is horrible. I bought them once and said I will never buy those cheap things again! I love huggies or if I am being cheap I use the Safeway brand its just as good!!

For your science project, why don't you take a diaper apart and show the different products that go into making one.
The paper, the plastic cover, the fiber filler, the gel crystals, show how each functions to make the overall diaper. How each looks dry vs. wet.
Then you can show how long it takes each part of that same disposable diaper to decay in our landfills and the damage they cause to our environment.
Lastly, show how a cloth diaper is so much better for the environment and the baby.
Good luck.

I think you need to try both out and find out what work for you and you baby. Thata what matters. I think for your price Luvs are better the wlmart brand. Thay are cheap thay never leak. If thay do you can get a refund thought luvs. Your the only one who can make up you mind witch one will work for you and your baby.
