Newborn & Baby - July 2006

I have a 4 month old baby and he's been pulling at his ear and biting everything he comes in contact with, including his fist and fingers. Yesterday he took a screaming fit and wouldn't eat and then finally I gave him some baby tylenol because I figure it's his teeth. Although he did have colic as a baby so I'm wondering if that could be it too? I'm not sure any answers would be grateful.

everyone I talk to says to put a tiny bit of cereal in her bottle and it will help her to sleep better. Although I have read at this age it is not safe. Is there anyone out there that has done it and are your kids ok?

A few months to go, and no names have stuck yet. Throw some out there and see what sticks.
Thanks in advance.

ok here is the situation, my wife and i just had a baby a month ago and my son is unable to latch on so he cant breast feed so my wife and i decided breast milk is best so she is putting and giving it to him in a bottle, before we had baby we bought a breastpump which the motor went out so we bought a manual one, and since she has had 2 cases of mastitis and has been told that a double electric pump hospital grade is what she needs which costs 300.00, we have already spent 150.00 on the other 2, she still uses the manual one and will continue to use it if we get the other one like in the car, ect. but i am hestitaing because i dont want to spend that kinda money on one and then also because i dont want someone else to tell her in a month that she needs a different one. she is upset because she has to use the one manual one for 20 min each side, is it fair if i tell her no we should just deal with the one we have?

I read all the pre-cautions about sids, to put baby to sleep on his back. But now my babies head seems a little lopsided. And yes I put him on his belly but he knows how to roll over and lasts for about 1 minute during tummy time. He cannot sit up on his own yet , but I don't want to keep laying him on his back. any suggestions.

My one year old daughter started solids at 8 months (exclusively breastfed before that). She ate purees only until 10 months and now eats semi-mashed or ground solids and cheerios or puffs. The thing is, she will not self feed. She plays with her food. I've gotten her a set of really nice spoons to experiment with but she just won't put the food in her mouth. At what age does an average baby self feed? I expect she'll be a little later because she started solids later than most. I've guided her and supported her getting her hands in her food. Any other ideas? OH...Teething biscuits are OUT! She did actually self feed herself with a teething biscuit last week and too much broke off into her mouth, so we're done with those...And those mesh things that you put the food into...we have those and she can't stand putting the thing in her mouth even when there is delicious fruit in it! Thanks!

My 5 week old baby has a nasty rash on her chin and her face, places where breastmilk spilled on her while feeding. My breasts spring really fast espeacially when she is on them, if she lets go, milk starts spraying all over bthe place and some end up on her face. How can I prevent her face from being burned by the breastmilk and what can I do get rid of the rash that is already there?"

My wife left our home and marriage 4 months ago with our 7 month old son a month after she had a nervous breakdown and told me she leaving on the day she got her period(Valentines day).

At the time I was going through a career change from a job of working 7 days a week(75 hours) making 40K to a job making 90k and 40 hours a week. This is something that we agreed on. That I could take care of our son for awhile and focus on getting back to my old career.

It took me a month from when she left to get us in counselling. She would not agree to it. During our 2nd time in counseling she says she is seeing a lawyer and filing for a divorce.

She says we are getting a divorce because I was unemployed and that I wasn't cleaning the house.Yeah so we clean differently. I''m not as thorough at it as she is. I don't like to dust.
I was also doing all the cooking of dinner and preparing her breakfast and lunch for her the next day.

I don't get it. I don't know I did.

Can someone help?
