Does anyone know if Magnesium supplements are safe when nursing?

I don't have specific information about magnesium as a dietary supplement, but I found a reference for Epsom Salts, which are a magnesium compound.

Magnesium concentrates in human milk. It is poorly absorbed when taken orally (about 4-30%), but milk will have about twice as much as the mother's bloodstream. So how safe it is would depend on how large the dose you are taking. The American Academy of Pediatrics considers the medical use of magnesium to be compatible with breastfeeding, and Dr. Thomas Hale, the world's foremost expert on drugs and breastfeeding states (again, about the medical use of Epsom Salts), "It is very unlikely that the amount of magnesium in breastmilk would be clinically relevant."
