I thought it was a dream come true when he started sleeping through the night at 3 months, and he's always been a really quiet baby content to sit and observe and fuss only if he was hungry, tired or needed to be changed. And he is still like that except when he wakes at 6 p.m.
I can pretty much predict when he will wake and go back to sleep but before he goes down for the night at 9 p.m. he just fusses and cries until i pick him up and he doesn't want to be put down until he falls back to sleep.
But i can't just hold him for 3 hours!
I try feeding him, burping him, changing him, reading, singing, playing with him but he just wants to be held!
I give him a bath just before 9 because that always puts him to sleep but i don't want to do that too early because then he'll just wake that much earlier.

Any suggestions, please!
Or could this just be a phase?

I never knew/heard of water being so harmful for babies in my life.
My baby's doc did tell me that my daughter didn't need water cause she would get all she needs from my breastmilk but she never said to not give her water or that it could be deadly. I have been letting my daughter drink water for about a month...she is 5 months old granted she doesn't drink alot but she does drink it and she likes it...and she seems fine to me I haven't had any problems. Any other mom's give their babies water??

My daughter is 5 months old and has been sucking her thumb since birth...she used a pacifier from about age 1 month to 2 months and decided on her own that she didn't want it anymore but she stills sucks her thumb...mostly at night or if she gets really upset. I have heard all the horror stories of babies that suck there thumbs untill there are like 5 or 6 years old and it ruins their teeth...Thumb sucking runs in her daddys family...he and all his siblings sucked their thumbs untill they were at least 5 years old. I really don't want my daughter to suck her thumb for a long time...Are there any safe and affective ways to help her stop or should I let her contiune?

She is 1 month old and her breath smells like spit-up milk. Is there any need to rinse her mouth or give her water to drink it down? All we have given her until now is breat milk.

We want to teach our daughter english and italian. We are planning on giving her an english first name and an italian middle name. Would it be a good idea to call her by her first name when we want her to speak english and by her middle name when we want her to speak italian? (For example at home we would call her Rachel and at relatives' houses we would call her Viola) What do you think? Thanks to all who answer!
