Ok breastfeeding is the best for the baby, easy to digest, full of germ fighting power, natures milk its natural and all that. Why is it so hard to breastfeed? Getting the baby to latch on, sucking correctly, and the fact that you have to do it more often than bottle feeding since it digest faster. Shouldn’t nature’s way and the best way be the easiest way to get a baby to feed?

She goes down at night just fine. Sleeps from about 8pm to 6am with only sometimes a feeding at night, not always. But she is horrible about taking naps. Any suggestions?

I have always heard that if you let you baby "stand" or put pressure on their legs to soon that it will make them bow-legged...Is this a myth or truth....My daughter is 5 months old and loves to be held up in a stand positions..she already can roll over on her own and sit up by herself a little...Do you think I am hurting her by letting her "stand"??

Is it better to give a baby herbal cough mixture (for example) or a proper pharmacy variety. I think that if I give a baby one from the pharmacy, if he/she has reaction at least the doctors will know exactly what ingredients are in it and what the ingredients do and how/if they can can counteract the problem, whereas with herbal/homeopathic varieties if something goes wrong (which it could) there are a lot of strange herbs and things in herbal medicine that doctors may not have any knowledge of.

My daughter is expecting her second child in December. Her first child will be two in August. She saved all of her baby stuff. But thinks that she should still get to have another baby shower. I told her no, that is only for the first child. We need some opinions... Who do you think is right?

I was asking a lady at babys r us today about bottle sanitation. She said that bottles are sanitized enough in your dishwasher if your water is hot enough. But, she said NOT to put the nipples in the dishwasher. What's the best way to sanitize them, then? (I don't want to buy a sanitizer if I don't have to).

Thanks in advance for your answers!

My daughter has ran a fever around 100.5 since Thursday and now it's Saturday night. I've been giving tylenol and motrin. I've also tried the whole bath thing. I don't know if it's her teeth or something else. I think that it's something else. It's 9pm and she still won't go to sleep and she's been up since 3pm. She's so tried and I've tried everything. Is there any advice you mothers have for me

I love my son more then anything, but I need a night of fun! Before I do this I need to know how safe it is. First I already know that I wont be breastfeeding at all during and the day after. I will suplement with formula. Plus I have a breast pump, so I can pump and then throw the milk away. But how long does alcohol stay in your milk? I want to to make sure its safe before I do anything.

My daughter is 4 1/2 months and I've just started her on solid foods. She eats cereal once a day and I have been pumping and mixing the cereal in with the breastmilk. The trouble is my baby nurses every 2 hours, so it is hard for me to get much milk out through pumping in between feedings - what ends up happening is I pump, and then she is hungry soon after and there is not much milk in my breasts...she pulls off quickly and is frustrated. So, today for the first time, I mixed 1 and 1/2 oz of formula in with her cereal. Is it bad to do this? I feel really crappy about it. I dont know if I am just being stupid about it. I just dont want to give her formula. I thought about mixing with juice, but I read that you should wait till 6 mos for juice. Should I just suck it up and pump or should I go with the formula? Or should I mix it with water? Let me know what you think! THANKS!!!
