I have breast fed my baby exclusively for 7 months. I'm trying to get him to drink from a bottle now. How many ounces should he be getting in a day?

Well, it varies from child to child, but I have 8 month old twins (my 4th and 5th children) and they eat eat 24-32 oz per day of formula. They also have been eating baby food since they were 6 months old. It would be a good idea if you haven't started to start your child on baby food. You can also start giving a sippy cup at meals already (if baby can bring bottle to mouth he or she can start using a sippy cup). I have had all of my children off of the bottle by 12 months so far and I intend to do that with my new twins also. Good Luck!

You cannot get an exact answer for that because babies have different eating habits. Some babies will be satisfied with a little bit, while others need a lot. I would say try starting him off with 4-5 ounces and if he cries for more, then give him more. He's 7 months old, and if you're feeding him baby food out of the jar, he might not take a lot of milk during the day.

I know that my 8 month old is suppost to get at least 24oz of formula a day and they can have jucie too but not more than 4 oz a day although i dont give my daughter that much in a week. And the baby should be eating solids by now i feed my daughter a 4oz bottle and two jars of second foods a friut and veggie.

My daughter is 6 1/2 months and I give her 8oz at a time.
Plus she eats her rice cereal and vegetables.

Start out with 6oz and work your way up. Experimenting is the only way to know for sure.
