If your baby is fully breastfed, her spit-up shouldn't smell that bad. It should smell sweet. In any case, to get rid of the smell, just nurse her!

A little spit up is normal. If your baby is spitting enough that there is a bad odor from the mouth, you probably need to discuss it with your pediatrician. Most of the time the smell is coming from the clothing the child has spit up on and not the mouth.
Ask your doctor as it could be a case of acid reflux, some kind of hernia or aspiration problem, a reaction to something you are eating (related to breastfeeding mothers of course), or any number of things. It may not be anything and you may be over concerned. Sometimes babies smell sweet and sometimes they don't. BUT it is always best to error on the side of caution and ask a medical professional.

I've always love the smell of breastfed babies breath. I wouldn't use toothpaste at this age, even if it's the kids kind. If you're concerned, just wipe the inside of her mouth out with a damp facecloth. Dental hygienists recommend this anyways to get them used to having something in their mouths. It makes brushing easier later on. Be sure also that she doesn't have thrush (a fungal infection in the mouth that babies sometimes get) Her tongue would be white, and your wife may have itchy breasts. Hope this helps, God Bless

I wouldn't give her water. I would just rub her gums and tongue with a wash cloth after every feeding/vomitting and eventually her breath will smell better

Put baking soda on the car fabric and carpet. Let the baking soda sit for at least an hour then vacuum. Sponge stain with a solution of 1 teaspoon dish washing liquid in 1 cup water. Rinse and blot dry. For your purse, get a spray bottle and add 2/3 clear distilled vinegar and 1/3 water. spray on purse and let sit 15 minutes. Spray again and then wipe off.

first of all, it is a breath of fresh air to read a question posted by a father instead of a mother so you deserve a pat on the back :) there is a "tooth & gum cleanser" made by Oragel brand that is sold at your local Wal-Mart, Target, K-Mart, etc. it comes with a little brush that fits on your finger, in a little purple box & it's flavor is mixed fruit or something like that. congrats on your new little one!

You can do whatever you feel is right.
I personally never smelled my kids breath when they were young.
Breast milk is best!
Ask your doctor about your concerns. Maybe they have a solution for you.
