Don't feed cereal through a bottle! First of all the bottle's nipple will get clogged, and secondly you want your child to separate the idea of eating cereal with the idea of getting a bottle, as eating cereal is probably rather new to him. Also check out the link below where the subject is discussed extensively

At that age, he should be eating cereal mixed in with formula or breastmilk in a bowl for breakfast and alot more solids throughout the day. If you are just feeding him cereal and he is hungry all the time, you need to move on and introduce foods you eat. Cereal in the bottle is not filling enough for a baby that age. Some parents put a little cereal in a bottle with younger babies to help satisfy their tummies but that is only because they are too little for a spoon still.

My 6 month old granddaughter is eating cereal in the morning (I got her the jar cereal w/fruit), then vegies at lunch and vegies at dinner. She isn't eating meat yet but she is handling everything else well. (I mean baby food - not people food, of course). It turns out that she doesn't seem to NEED her bottle as much now that she's eating during the day. I did the same with my own kids.

I've always heard you are not supposed to put baby cereal in a bottle, or any other food for that matter. I don't know how people come up with that, anyway, it seems weird to me.

I think feeding it separate is just fine, worked out for my daughter.

I believe by 10 months they should be having cereal seperate. And also be introduced to veggies/ fruits one at a time in case there is an allergy issue. Make sure you buy the 1st stages baby food if you have not given him any of this yet.

If you want him to slpeep through the night, put it in the bottle. If you feed him cereal on it's own, he might be to full up to take his milk.

Yes. Doing the cereal separately will allow him to begin learning "adult" eating habits and as you note, it will most likely be more filling to have both a serving of cereal and then a bottle.

Yeh thinking right...Feed ur infant with cereal in a bowl rather than putting it in a bottle...As frm medical point of view, giving kids bottles, especially at nights, is not good for theor health in many ways...
Thanks,

Oh for sure. By 10 months old he should be already eating baby foods and cereals by spoon. Besides, who can resist the messy little faces of babies experimenting. :D One of those precious moments u will want to take pictures of. lol

Never put cereal in a bottle cause that will cause tooth decay in the long run!!!
