Question: why does our three year old always wake up crying in the middle of the night?

Question Details:

Deleted Answer: If you were my mom I'd cry too! I'd cry all of the time. I'd be crying "God help me from having a mother like this."

I have 3 children. Two girls 9 and 4 and a son 8.Beautiful, smart, kind, respectful children they all are for the most part, but my son has a problem with lying and stealing. He has had this problem since 4. He takes food mostly, but has stolen 100.00$ from me once and I think he takes my change out of my wallet. His father has been in his life on and off.He lived with him after I gave birth to my youngest due to money issues and was separated from me and the girls.I know this made him sad and angry that he was left behind. The stealing didn't start until after this but he doesn't do this when in his custody, but he wasn't a happy child with him and his father lacked parenting skills like washing clothes, doctor visits, good diet, and personal hygiene so I took our child back after two months and he has been with me every since, no matter what I do he steals and lies. But not when my soldier husband is home, but he is deployed now and it is worst. I want to give up, but i love him.HELP?

My son is very bright. He is in the gifted program at his school. In kindergarten his teacher asked me if I ever had him tested for ADHD. I was insulted. Well, this year in first grade, his teacher asked me the same question. This time, I was questioning it myself. He is a ball of energy. Gets his work done, plays well with others, he just has the wiggles alot. He gets up out of his seat to talk to other kids and basically acts like a class clown. My son has been on immunology treatment for 20 months now, which consists of 3 allergy shots a week and oral medication. I do not want to "medicate" him more. How do I find out if he has ADHD?

I know a child who is young around 8 1/2 who is going through a rough time, his mom and dad are splitting up and he feels the pain deeply. During the day he is very compliant and does well but at night around 6:30 or so he gets very fresh and arguementative to his mother and he also gets very irritable and seems to like testing his moms patience. He gets very sassy with his speech and also mouths off.

My question is what can I do to encourage this child and share the love of God with him? And what can I do to make a difference in his life?

I work at an after-school program and am not sure what to do with the kids that are disrespectful, loud, or just behaving badly. We've done time-outs and talked to parents, but I am not seeing anything constructive come out of this. Some of the kids don't know how to act when you first tell them that there is a consequence for what they are doing - they start acting worse and just make the whole situation a lot bigger than it started as. I want a punishment that shows them how they can get out of the situation without having to feel embarrassed for acting so ridiculously.

My neighbor/friend is a single mother of 3 doing her best and 2 of her kids are twin 8 year old boy and girl. They are average size for 8 year olds, I guess. Actually maybe a little more on the skinny side. Average height. Their birthday is a day before Christmas and with Christmas and School I would like to buy them some clothes. I dont want to ask their mom because she is the kind who says NO dont do that, you shouldnt have and so on. So I figured I would just try to do this myself. I am 25 and I dont have any kids so I have no idea how sizes run for kids. Thanks for your time!

my son is seven and an extremely hard sleeper. we have done everything except drugs which quit working six months after children quit taking them. we don't let him drink before bedtime, we wake him up before we go to bed, we have used a malem alarm, homeopathic meds, EVERYTHING. he is a very confident child, but i worry that if he doesn't stop wearing a diaper at night he won't be for long. does anyone have a similar situation or have any advice? please no haters....this is a sensitive subject for my family. we adore my son and will do anything to help him. thanks!

Been married for 3 yrs and this is getting worse. If i do anything for for husband regarding "thier" son she has a fit. For example I made a copy of school phone # for my husband to have that was in his sons school folder. When his ex found this out she had a fit and told his son to tell me NOT to touch anything in the folder and SHE would do all the coping for my husband. She was even pissed off when my husband called the school to get a copy of his sons report card. She was pissed because she wants him to get it from her not the school. Now my husband has joint custody and its not like his ex does not want him to have this info she just wants all the info he gets to come from her. Why is this? It would make it easier for her if we just took care of it. Why does she insist on being the "control center"

This weekend I'm going to be babysitting an 8-year-old boy. I really wanted him to have LOTS of fun, so that he will want to come again. It will be at night, so we won't be able to go outside.

Any ideas for what we could do?

I have a 19 month old and an 11 yr old who gets home from school at 3 pm. I have one part-time job, waitressing, but the place isn't very busy and with Christmas coming, I don't know if I'll be able to afford our bills as well as Christmas expenses. I've been offered a "permanent part-time" position at a department store and I turned it down but they counter-offered for 50 cents more per hour plus paid vacations and personal days, as well as flexibility in the schedule to work around my other job. My brain is telling me to take it so I can have the steady, reliable income as well as the quick, easy cash that comes from the restaurant on the weekends. My heart is telling me to stay home with my baby. My older son has ADHD and needs constant hounding to keep up with getting homework and chores done when he gets home. He and my husband butt heads so much, I'd rather be here for him myself.

SOOO steadier income to help the family or stay home to be with them?

HELP!

I want to buy my son a turtle for Christmas..This question is for people who have or have had turtles only...Others need not post, please. I want something small, that wont get very big...That is easy to maintain..I understand I will be caring for the turtle primarily, as my son is only 5. (and im not worried about salmonella, my son wont put a turtle in his mouth, and we will wash hands before and after handling the turtle..)
What did you find worked best? Where did you shop?
