What about a diva party with nail painting, hair styles, and feather boas from the dollar store?

An American Idol Party with cupcakes made in ice cream cones like microphones and burn a cd of kids music for everyone for a party favor. Rent a karoke machine or borrow one for fun games with singing. Play musical chairs and have a dance contest.

Have a scavenger hunt in a local park or around your neighborhood.

Have a craft party. Take digital pictures of the girls at the party and print them while the girls decorate picture frames or make a scrapbook page.

Just some ideas....

hi there. my daughter is turning 8 five days before christmas, so i hear you on the money thing ! this year, we are having her party at home, and doing a cheerleader party. we will have a cheerleader from the local high school come and teach cheers. there's also tons of stuff you can make yourself, and some stuff you can buy. here's the link where i go the idea from in the first place:

www.amazingmoms.com

at the home page there is a link to a complete, alphabetized list of party themes under where it says 'related links'

sounded fun and pretty easy to me.

How about an old fashion sleep over party. Girls this age love to have friends stay all night. They could paint toe nails, put on makeup, do hair with beads or brades, or halloween hair color. You could make lip gloss out of petrolium jelly and kool aid put it in film canaster for storage.
The girls could make friendhip braceletts and hair scrunchies. eat popcorn and watch a movie

How about a day riding horses? Girls like horses and there are plenty of places who do horse rides. You could make a day of it and have the birthday in a picnic environment!

Have a craft party. You could make flower headbands, paper lanterns, or cute peppermint mice. Decorate picture frames and pencil cases with plastic jewels, or make juggling balls from balloons and rice.
