my school( high school) has the highest rate of teenage pregnancies in the state. right now we have 38 REPORTED pregnant teens, which 14 have ALREADY given birth. 8 freshman, 7 sophmore, 6 juniors, and 13 seniors. its a damn shame. . . we have a daycare thats full and that has a HUGE waiting list for expecting mothers. every time i walk down the hallway i hear " aw, look at ur baby, i wish i had a kid". they think its cute!. i went up there to ask questions about it and the lady looked at me like i was a whore, just because i wanted to give out daycare cards from my mom.she thought i was expecting! some of my friends wanted to interview me for the school newspaper for their pregnancy peice. i was pregnant before, yes, but i dont want to anounce it to the whole school ( raped). why is sex so freakin important to them??? our school doesnt even talk about sex etc. . . we have questions that they cant answer because of the school board. soo much more to tell, just glad to get it out!

I think my mom wants to take in (adopt) another kid?
she has that look about her again. like she's thinking about one thing and only one thing. the only other time she's had that look was (1) a month before we adpoted my 10 year old bro Jake and (2) right before we took my 16 year old bro Derek in foster care. what are the odds she thinking about another poor lonely kid who needs a family? i have mixed feelings about this. 18 kids already live in our house (it's a long story i'll add it in a "addition details" thingy. another kid would be another person hogging the shower and the bathroom, but yet again, i love my sibs, wouldn't trade them for the world, maybe this one is a girl. i just want to know how old he/she is. how can i ask her? what if there's not even a kid and i'm jumping to conclusions? watch should i do?(and just n case your wondering, i'm 17)

Son - 14 - bio. father in prison for setting home on fire, gets out of prison with 2 weeks after 9 years, Son has been acting out for the last 6 or so months, grades dropping, constantly in trouble, asking me about being EMO, cutting himself, depressed, cries allot, hates the world and himself, we are spending more time with him, doing more things as a family, I don't know what to do, at what point do I seek help. To top it all off, there are rumors of his bio. father and paternal grand parents trying to take him to live with them, are you serious? What is a mother to do, let him go and figure it out on his own or not allow it? For the record, before you give a line of crap that it's a phase and to back off, I have 2 older children, 18 girl who's a senior and a wonderful daughter, no trouble, problems, good in school etc and a son almost 17 who's got good grades, into sports, healthy living etc and doing awesome. They both had phases but not like this. Middle Children and the troubles!

I know there was a man from Philly that grew up in the projects and family was killed by gang members, etc.
he was the only one in his family to graduate high school/college, he came in to speak to the 6-8th graders, but, seems they've forgotten already, maybe have an ex-con come in and tell them what happens when you make poor choices?

The reason for this is the month I've had,I've found out that my 16yr old sister is pregnant.This has caused problems in the family aspecailly with my grandparents.As my grandfather can not stay in the same room as my sister.I don't know what to do should I get involed and try to help my grandad or explain to my sister the problem as I have my own problems.

I find it very ignorant that couples (especially teen couples) show off in public of proving(why?)how cool they are by kissing and talking about their sex lives in public amongst lonely people that are twentysomething and especially older than that. The lonely people haven't had a boyfriend or girlfriend for a long time, have seldom or never have had one or the other, and have rarely had or never had sex in their lives. I know that lonely people like me when witnessing couples like this sometimes feel like killing, lecturing, and mocking them in public. It's fair enough if they just want to smooch every now and then - making it discreet in public, BUT COME ON! I see some couples all over each other in public! TO COUPLES: Do MOST of your fondling and smooching in private! Don't over blab about your sex lives either! Some lonely people would feel way too jealous and insecure about their own love/sex lives otherwise. What do the rest of the people (lonely and paired off) feel about this?

I can't stop thinking about the girl I like this past week. She is confusing me, she is my ex, we broke up about a year ago! I still really like her and she might like me as well. Last friday her friends told her to stay away from me as much as possible. So from friday to tuesday she was avoiding me, ignoring me and not saying "hi" to me but yesterday and today she is telling me "hi" like 4 times a day and talking to me alot. What is going on? My friend (him and I are both 20) is dating a girl who is 16 almost 17. They are really are happy together and I dont see a problem with the age or anything but they both wanna have sex. I told him it was illegal till she was 18 but he said she is over the age of consent (which is 16 in Maryland where I live). Not sure if he will do it or not but is he right about it being legal. If she is over the age of consent can she consent to someone 3.5 years older than her?

my adopted step sister (i just call her my sister), Emma, is 11. when she was almost 8, her house burned down, killing her parents and baby brother. now 3 years later she's doing better, but still has some problems. she still cries herself to sleep every night, even though she's fine during the day. and sometimes in the middle of the night, she'll wake up screaming
"No!!!", kicking and sweating like crazy. either me, one of my other sisters (age 14 and 15) or my mom will hold her and rock her back to sleep when that happens (used to be every night, now only once a week). in the morning, she has no memory of her nightmares. during the day she's fine, but is scared of fire, won't go near the stove or light a candle or anything. Last week she was really moody, mouthing off to everybody, and when she started screaming and hitting our brother (12), it took both me (17)and my older brother(19) to hold and calm her down. then she started saying (and crying). wait for more details...

she really is like a mother to me, we have a pretty good relationship. and she treats me like her own daughter, not like a step daughter. my older brother (19), me (17), and sister (14)call her "Kate", and my little brothers (twins, 12), and little sisters (9 and twins, age 7) call her mom. her 3 little boys and daughter call my dad "dad", and her oldest daughter calls him "david". i was just wondering if i should starts calling her "mom" too. i've almost done it a couple times, but caught myself right before it came out. thoughts?

i was wondering

im 16 and ive heard all these things about how when a girl first has sex that it hurts, im not a girl but me and my Girlfriend just seem to be getting more and more passionate all the time, and i know its not to long before i finally lose my virginity (same as her) and anyways i just wanted to be able to comfort her if she is scared in anyway

I so hate when moms say "oh if your kids will watch violent movies they will become mass murderers! That is just a joke.

Sure it may be not appropriate for a 6 year old to be watching texas chainsaw massacre... But a 13 or 12 year old who is into horror movies will obviously know its fake.. He is not going to become a mass murderer.

Kids by the age of 12 fully understand what going on in a movie. My friend has 3 sons and the her 13 year old is a gorehound, he loves horror movies. And he is about the most polite kid you would ever meet.

And also, I usually ignore the ratings of movies. Movies that were oscar nominated, or very well made movies that may have an R rating, does not mean its a horrible movie to watch.
It may be complicated for young children to follow but there is no harm done.

If there is a movie that may show nudity (bare bottem or boobs) for a couple seconds.. Cmon people... How does that ruin a 13 year old..
