Adolescent - March 2007

I am in the Northwest Alabama area and have a nephew that has serious behavioral problems. He was first diagnosed at age 2 with autism and ADHD. Now the school he is in has diagnosed him with mild retardation and ADHD. He is currently on Lexapro, half a 5 mg a day, and a seraquol in the morning and before bed. I think he has started using his diagnosis and the fact that he takes meds as an excuse to get away with his behavior. His mother has been absent from the home for 2 years and my brother works nights. My father and I split up taking care of all 3 of my brothers boys. The one that is causing all the problems is 11. He is physically and verbally abusive and is a good sized kid. I can't handle him anymore and don't know what to do. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

I'm 13. C cup, and she makes me wear every day a bra like the one at http://www.anita.com/de/en/0,1,104,1478,39236__products-detail.htm It has 4 hooks in the back. I dont like but she says it's for my best and doesn't back off. Do I have to obey? she's nice but said it's decided. And when summer comes? she said I'll keep wearing it anyway.

i hate bullies why is it nothing gets done when it comes to bullies im so sick and tired of it especially the way teachers handle it my son is a victim of constant bullying from certain students. After being sick of nothing being done to my satisfaction (within reason of course) by the school i attempted to have words with the child but he ran off the next day at school it was my son in trouble for what i hadnt even gotten the chance to do, anyway he was made out the bad one and i was also told she found it hard to beleive it was that certain child bullying my son because SHE had never had a problem with him so my son was made out the lyer the exagerator bla bla bla and this boy gets off scott free. i make no apologies for any times that i will in the future confront these children ill do it again and again and again until we are heard is any one else going thru this sort of situation? does any one else feel my frustration with these schools can you please share your experiences

What rules/curfews are acceptable when she is 18 but still in high school and about to graduate? How do I handle the disrespect? Legally she is an adult but still is at home and in school.

My 14 year old cousin just found out she is 7 months pregnant. She is from a broken, dirt poor home. Her mother is the primary caregiver for my grandmother who just had a massive stroke. Her mother says she will raise the baby but if she does so, she will not be able to care for my grandma and there is no one else who can right now. Other factor is my cousin's mother is a bad person who lies and steals from family and has an on/off drug problem for over 25 years. I know I need to be very careful and tactful if I offer the option of adopting her baby. What should I say if I do it? I have only thought of - that we have been in a happy, stable marriage for almost 10 years, have well paying stable jobs that include premier health insr. tuition reimbursment for kids college, have a nice home, the time available to take care of a kid and we live in a large city with many cultural and educational benefits that baby would not get in backwoods KY. (I grew up there.) Any advice?

I'm 14 and my boyfriend is 17. We have been dating for only 12 days. He asked me to prom already and we're going together. I'm worried about his mom though. She won't let him drive out here alone and is making my parents bring me to their house before prom. She's always talking to my mom on the phone and asking weird questions. They have decided to meet up this weekend. My mom thinks that I shouldnt be with him because of her. And truthfully I'm kind of worried that she will ruin our relationship. I don't want to tell him this cuz I know it will hurt him. But i dont know what to do.

She asked me if I would be ok with letting my 15 year old daughter go to a wedding with her boyfriend. Fine but here the kicker, They would stay over night and the parents wouldn't be staying with them. I know my daughter is responsible and she is on birth control but I don't know what to do. In the last two weeks my normal 15 yr old has managed to have her cell phone confiscated at school for 30 days, and against the rules of computer/internet not only went on myspace, but made her own web page. I am so upset I don't know what to do with her. Until now I have trusted her....she lied about being on myspace & then lied and said "friends" set up the page. She stood next to me while I confrounted two of her friends about it....and never said a word. I know she wants friends, I know she wants to be cool. I know it is hard for her to make friends...I have always tried to be "cool" and although she has had boundries, she has also had some freedom. She is suppose to take a school trip to NYC next month and we have already paid for it. Should I keep her home? Should I ground her for life from the internet? Any suggestions would be helpful as I am having a hard time thinking this one through. thanks.

well my step dad has been warning me all grading period if he saw a missing assignment on progress book i will be grounded and i didnt see the back of my math worksheet and my teacher said it was incomplete so that night after dinner he got on and he saw the incomplete and he grounded me and i got mad and started crying and he told me to stop being a baby and i shoved him and called him an *** (witch i know was wrong and childish and i regret it) and he grabbed me and took me to my room and belted me and after he made me take a quick shower and go to bed and when mom came home he told her and she called my dad and told him and now he is coming to pic me up after school tomorrow and probally punish me worse cause he says that disrepecting him and my step dad is a major no no! now i know i'm not to old for spankings but i've already been punished once and i am sorry and i just dont understand why i have to get it twice! what do hink is his reason?

i'm writing this story and i have one paragraph done but i need more help. First of all, its for a contest and its a story writing contest. i have till augest to write it . I can get halp from famliy and friends. I also can use the internet. But i really need help. Here is the first paragraph.

Samantha was a normal teenager in high school. She had a few good friends, even a crush on the 10th grade hottie Ryan. She had a large extended family of many cousins, aunts, uncles, in-laws, and grand parents. She also had five brothers and sisters. Unlike most people at her school her parents were divorced. That was the main problem. She had a secret that only her stuffed animals new about. The secret was why all the shirts in her wardrobe were long sleeve. She was an emotional wreck. It all started when she was thirteen and her parents got devoiced. Her life started to go down hill.
