Normally 10 - 14 days after CONCEPTION... you can determine based on a HPT that you are pregnant.... however, blood tests can be sooner than that.

You have to wait until there is enough hCG in your urine or blood to be detected from the tests!

*I used one of the brands that allows "up to 5 days before missed period" and tried to test a few days...it was NEGATIVE! I waited 4 days and tested again..... it was POSITIVE! So, from my experience, you really should wait until the first day of your missed period!

I found out when I was only two weeks pregnant. It depends on how well you know your body and can tell the changes in it. Plus, I was on birth control and when my period didn't start the week it was supposed to with the birth control off I knew something was up. I took a test, and it came out positive. I went to my commands medical and they sent me to the doctor to do a blood test and I was pregnant. And I was on birth control.

Or you can seek out Plan B or other back up oral contraceptive and keep from getting pregnant to begin with.

The best way is to wait until you miss your period. There are tests that will test up to 5 days before your period, but let's be honest--you could always have a miscarriage.

Just wait until you miss your period, wait about a week, and take a home pregnancy test.
