She's at the age, the very difficult one! She'll be lucky if she lives to the next year! She has court tomorrow for skipping school and she continuously skips. I can go on and on the list is starting to get to be quite a long one. The fact is she doesn't really care! I've got all kinds of proffesional help, almost more than I can handle! I'm trying everything I can think of! It feels like I am powerless. She insists on behaving the way that she does. If she doesn't stop she's going to end up with a world of regrets by the time she's in her twenties! What can I do that I haven't already done?

They are giving this class in 6, 7 and 8th grade to teach about abstinance, HIV/Aids, and puberty. My ex-husband thinks she shouldn't be taking it, but I think she should have had it last year. My step son is 12 and had it this year. My ex husband thinks they are going to show then pics. of naked people and thinks sex education is to teach them how to have sex. I totally think these classes are a great idea, and am planning to have the sex talk with her soon anyway. Do you think I should have the talk with her before her class or should I wait until she turns 13 next month like I planned?

I'm reading the series, and I'm on the Dragon books now. (And yes, I'm an adult! But my daughter loved the books so I got hooked on them too!)

Anyway, my daughter and I cannot figure out what happened to Leif's father. He was alive at the end of the first set of books ("Return to Del") But then he was gone in the Shadowland books and Leif was king. I don't recall any mention of his father's death.

Please let me know if you remember what happened to him. Thanks!

:( My man and I want to tell her NO, but we are scared to shut down communication at such a young age. So far we have explained to her that we really don't like the idea. Her Dad has tried to call and talk to her Mom, but it seems like she's avoiding. I know its a cry out for attention she is not getting at home(she lives in another state). How can we talk her out of this idea without making her think that we are punishing her or embarassing her for even asking?

WEll alright there is this boy that i like, but my best friend fated him like over a year ago and their relationship ended. Since then she has had 2 boyfriends. But the other day she told me that she still might like this kid after i had told her that i like him. I mentor a 14 year old boy and for thw most part, we get along pretty good. We have been matched for about a 1 1/2 years. I am getting a little frustrated because after this much time, I think there should be some ownership of the match on his part. For instance, he has never called me or initiated and communication with me. I have asked him to call me on several occassions to tell me how his games went etc... and he'll say he'll call, but never does. His Mom kinda enables him in this too, if there are schedule changes, she'll call me and not him. Don't get me wrong, I understand that I am the adult and that 90 some percent of the effort is on me, but after a year and a half you would think that he would be showing some effort towards our match and friendship. It just feels like the frienship doesn't matter to him. I am thinking about not calling for awhile and waiting to see how long it takes him to initiate contact. Good or bad idea????

Ok I'm 14 years old and I was wondering why like all teenagers are soo against abortion. I am pro-choice. All my friends are like "If any one i know got an abortion I would never talk to them again" Thats soo stupid, abortion isnt "killing" like I know if I got pregnant right now I would take my *** to the nearest abortion clinic. Do you know how many kids out there are orphaned and alone. Why would someone want to bring any more unwanted kids into the orld? So do you agree with abortion? No I'm not pregnant, I'm just asking. Its a strange,annoying phenonemon. Any arguement with a teen can end with them nicking off to their room and leaving a hole in the wall. It doesnt take much strength to do it, so i dont see how it can relieve much frustration. Why do that?

Why teens drop out of school, do drugs, commit suicide and end up doing drugs? I sure as hell do. My cousin ended up dropping out of highschool because of his mom and dad they never appreciated his good grades and started doing bad and dropped out when he was 18. Do you think that its the parents fault why kids are like this these days?

OMG okay at school the teacher gave me a warning for talking and if I get another one I'll get a detention.The solution is be quiet, right? Wrong. The guy I like sits with me and I HAVE to talk to him, or else he'll think I'm weird.Plus I want to talk to him.If I get a detention, my grandma will have to pick me up and I won't have the rep with my family as such a good girl. Anyways, what should I do? Should I not talk to him therefore ruining even a chance of him liking me and not get detention? Or talk to him, making me happy (and him) , and have a VERY good chance of detention.What's more important? My school record or my social life?
PS I already barely talked to him today and he seemed pretty sad.
