OMG okay at school the teacher gave me a warning for talking and if I get another one I'll get a detention.The solution is be quiet, right? Wrong. The guy I like sits with me and I HAVE to talk to him, or else he'll think I'm weird.Plus I want to talk to him.If I get a detention, my grandma will have to pick me up and I won't have the rep with my family as such a good girl. Anyways, what should I do? Should I not talk to him therefore ruining even a chance of him liking me and not get detention? Or talk to him, making me happy (and him) , and have a VERY good chance of detention.What's more important? My school record or my social life?
PS I already barely talked to him today and he seemed pretty sad.

and i cant talk to him after school sorry my mom said that we're talking on the phone too much.She limited it to after 9 and weekends but thanx for the advice it would be a great idea

we dont have home phones either we just use our cingular cell phones and i think he has a sprint

Personally, I think both are important, and you can do both. Do not talk in class, you'll definitely get caught one time or another... but you can still communicate with the guy. You could pass notes (by hand or inside of a school notebook so you won't get caught), or just tell him what's going on and try to talk to him as much as possible (not excessively though) outside of class, or in a different class. If he's a nice guy, he'll understand. Besides, he might get in trouble for talking too! Good luck!

School is more important. But they actually put detentions on your record where you're from? Wow.
But NE ways, stop talking to him during class. Do U see him in the hall? Maybe U guys can come to class early (if possible) and talk then and take a few minutes after class to talk.
But you're right. To avoid getting a detention for not talking...don't talk. Write notes insead. Don't pass note right in front of the teacher's face. Wait til she looks away or turns to the board. Don't snicker loudly either cause then she'll know something's up. It's just Study Hall, right?
Why don't U guys join a club together. Then U can talk whenever.
If it's just Study Hall then ok. But if it's a class where U actually get a grade tell him U want to pay attention so U don't get a bad grade. He should understand that. If he doesn't, he's dumb and you're too smart to date an idiot! :)
But, NE way...
An education and good grades are more important than a boy.

Believe me, if this guy was any kind of friend, he would not want you to talk to him during class and risk you getting detention. It sounds like he is very immature if he is sad just because you barely talked to him. Why would you even want a guy like that??
Your schooling is what is going to get you through the rest of your life....this guy will probably not last over a year at the most. So, you do the math...which is more important...your school record or your social life???

just talk to him and tell him why you haven't been talking to him. or ask your teacher if you can switch seats ad pretend she made u move. hangout after school and on the weekends ad it either of u guys have a sn talk on line I'm sure you can find out ways to talk. and the phone story, just use you home phone. r u guys on the same cell phone service because if so i think its free. but I'm not saying that your school like is more important tan you social life, but it itll be bad to get detention try avoid it

Don't trash your school record in the hope of attracting a guy - if he geniunely likes you then he would not want to see you getting into trouble because of him. If that's what he expects then he doesn't repect you or care about you properly. Just talk to him outside of class - also why isn't he the one in trouble - surely he must be talking as well - or is he quiet and you are talking at him for his entertainment?
It's not worth all the trouble.

I think that if he really liked you he could find a time to talk with you without getting each other in detention ~ and it is hardly fair to make your Grandma have to go pick you up from detention for this. He could call you, talk with you in- between classes, or after school if he really liked you.

Get your talking in before class, and walking out of class. Don't risk getting a detention because of talking to the guy you like... I'm sure he'd understand... explain that to him.

approach him before class starts and say "hey, just wanted you to know that I'm not ignoring you in class, I just don't want to risk detention." If you're brave, you could even suggest that you guys catch up on the non-talking in class after school one day.

well your school work is 10 times more importaint but...if you fell like hes gonna get upset cause you not talking to him then just tell him that you cant get in to trouble and you do like him so youll talk to him when you can. or write him notes. and detention isnt that big of a deal.

... You could talk to him between classes. Or pass notes. Carefully. Something not involving talking, because homework center is supposed to be silent, I'll bet, so that the other kids can concentrate.
