I agree with you. I blame the boy as much as the girl when it comes to teenage pregnancy. Sometimes even more...boys are supposed to be more experienced than girls, and know how to cover the tool!!!
Haven't boys heard of condoms? Along with the pullout, condoms are what like 93% effective? Young men, you are just as responsible for teen pregnancy as girls are. We don't just inseminate ourselves!

As long as both partners wanted the child, the age of the parents may not be too important (as long as they are of legal age).
An issue that comes to mind when teens have children is financial security. Do they have secure employment? Have they completed their education to make them more marketable in the labour market therefore more chance of obtaining & maintaining a job? (or did they have to drop out to raise the child - therefore planning was not considered). Did both parents discuss the issue of having a baby? How will they raise the child? Did they actually think it through?
To answer your question - I believe it is "about" both partners/parents - not just the female. Both must be mature & resposnible for their actions. Both must be committed to have the child.
It is only when particular motives for having the child - brings different attitudes one or the other.
If two people really love each other - then having a child should be blessed. But planning is the key. If people want to raise a family - it would only make sense if they plan their financial security to properly raise the child before "accidently" (if that was the case) getting pregnant...

It's not fair, but the girl is the one who gets the physical aspects of getting pregnant. Girls get the big belly and in most cases the baby afterward. Guys just get a big kudos from their friends for scoring. There seems to be no negative social or moral repercussions for the boys helping these girls get pregnant.
Boys, you need to be protecting yourself. Take responsibility for birth control and stop assuming it has been taken care of. Girls, you need to stop being afraid someone is not going to like you because you want to protect yourself. Of course there is the wonderful concept of not having sex. No sex, no preggers. I don't believe you need to be celibate until you are married but I do believe you need to be celibate until you are ready and capable of dealing with the possible consequences.

If the girl isn't on birth control and the guy doesn't have a condom the girl can say no. If the girl consents to having sex without using birth control then I believe she should except the consequences. Unless he forces her to have unprotected sex(rape), she is the one who controls what goes in and subsequently comes out of her own body.

yeah, the guys should be partly responsible, but mostly I think it's the parents. They give their kids all this birth control and condoms with the logic that they're "going to do it anyway, it may as well be safe". Truth is, those things aren't 100% safe. The only thing that's gonna stop anyone from getting pregnant or STDs is abstinance. So, I guess I think the boyfriend's parents should be blamed, for not teaching their son how to repect girls.
