Pregnancy & Parenting - 16 November 2007

I am 17 weeks pregnant and found out that i am a carrier for cystic fibrosis and i was wondering if anyone could tell me a little about wany that it is? i have an appoinment to meet with the doctor monday to discuss everything but i am curious now....anything u can tell me would help....does this harm my baby??

Hi, I am 28 weeks pregnant right now and so far my breast have not dramatically increased in size. They have been pretty sore now and then but they are no bigger than before. My question is...I was not able to breastfeed my first baby and I REALLY want to nurse this second baby as much and for as long as I can....but honestly I think to myself " I have small boobs....CAN I successfully breastfeed" Does the size of your breast have anything to do with how much breastmilk your body can produce??

I had my 20 week anatomy scan last week and then went to the doctor today for the results. He told me everything looked good but that I need to go back for a follow up scan. SO I asked why if everything looked good. He told me that they could not get all the heart pictures and that they suggest getting more because I am so big. SO I asked, you mean the baby is big so they couldnt get good pictures? It was very odd because during the ultrasound we say perfect pictures of the heart and all the valves. So he said, "No, because you are so big". In other words, because I am fat they could not get good pictures.

First of all, Im not fat. I am 5'7", 180lbs but wear it very well. BUT even if I were 400lbs, what the hell kind of doctor talks like that to a hormonal pregnant woman? I have no problem going back for another sonogram and even if it is because they said my bellly is big, ok but what kind of bedside manner is that? Needless to say, Im getting a new OB. Anyone else?

I am 3 months.
I got morning sickness but am over it now. I got it solidly for a few weeks. All day. But never threw up (i havent thrown up in 15 years) I am 20. This is my first child

Im anxioous naturally to find out the sex.

did anyone find that some things give it away. The type of cravings, the instincting feeling of knowing, the sickness (despite i never throw up)
Just anything?

I'm having a little get together which was going to be at a park but now it's at home because it's going to be 36 degrees. I know she won't care but i there will be older ones too. Is it ok to just have food and cake but not to plan games or lolly bags. Kinda broke

My son is 10 years old and in the 4th grade. When he was born he was diagnosed with a buried penis which meant that his penis was not visible outside of his body. His case was an unusual one because most baby boys who are diagnosed with this condition have excess pubic fat and are left alone but my son's penis was not hidden underneath the fat but actually deeper beneath. We decided to go through with surgery . I wish I could take back this decision back. Not only did it not help correct it but it severely deformed it. His foreskin looks like it is detached from his gland but still attached to pelvis. As he got older, the gland of his penis began to show so it actually looked like he had a penis. Ever since the third grade his school made everyone take P.E. Almost everyday my son told me his horror stories at school about kids making viscious comments about his penis. I have tried to get a P.E. waiver and also talked to the superintendent but he claims the abuse goes on. What can I do?

When my mom woke up on that early saturday morning with her head hurting and spinning, she went like paralyzed and could not speak or even move (Due to a blood clot on her brain) and the ambulance people and the hospital threatened to pump her stomach if she did not tell them what was wrong with her.
She couldn't tell them cause she had so much swelling and pressure on her brain from the blood clot.
My sister had to argue with that doctor in the er to fly her out to UK hospital where our mom has a doctor there cause she suffers from portal hypertension.

It took an hour for the ambulance to get to her house which is only 15 minutes away. (I mean an hour total plus another hour of telling them that they could not do anything for her at the hospital in our town)

I mean in those 2 hours or better that could have busted in her head and killed her.
She is doing better, she is out of the hospital but now in a rehab place to recover.

What do you think?

O my gosh, I didnt know a lot of stuff about abortion. thats just sad how so many people take the babies lives when they are so inocent and didnt do anything bad. Thats just very sad, I am doing a paper about abortion, and I read a lot of stuff about. I didnt even know that they doctors perform abortion even when your like 18 weeks pregnant already. thats scary, and some of the people are saying that it is not a human yet, untill it was born. Of course it is, I mean it has legs, arms, head, eyes, everything. I just wanna cry when I think about. Baby is a blessing from God. We should do something about abortion!!!!!!!

I've pretty much turned into a water fountain/ flood warning. My emotions are getting so bad that I've been crying about Holiday Commericals.
Like the Zales Commerical, all they have to show is a happy family and I'm all tears.
Sometimes I'm soo ashamed to cry, even if it's not sad I'm crying, LOL.
Anyway, what was or is the worst with your pregnancy.

He's out of control--staying out late at nights, using drugs and alcohol, hanging out with the wrong kids, defying parental authority and skipping school. His mother and I have decided that a boarding school that provides therapy, a regular schedule, plenty of exercise and positive morals is the best option at this time. I had posted a few days ago stating i was having light aches on my lower left abdomen, i got my answers, well im due for my period on the 21st of this month, i ovulated 8 days ago, i had sex the 2 days before and day of ovulation and also next day, me and mikal went to get tests, and i figured heck lets just see, i used first response and there is a faint pink line, it is light but DEFINATLEY noticable, i read within the 3 minute time alloted, this was o ur first month ttc, is it really possible for me to be pregnant, tommorow will be 4 days before my period...i dont feel right, ive been really tired, the side aches have slowly gone away...

ok so im throwing my son a birthday party hes turning 3 for all the freinds and family were going to have it at the house this year instead of renting a place out but were going to rent bouncy houses and other amusment stuff to go outside. we usually start planning in october and its in march, and we always get a teired cake and go all out on presents, we've actually scaled back some since his first birthday but i was wondering what a good theme would be? because its getting so close i have to still order personalized things for the goodey bags and his birthday banner for the yard, but i need so ideas for a theme, the first year was circus theme, the 2nd year was spongebob for one party and the other was thomas, (we had to have 2 parties that year for family reasons) or any other kind of ideas would be great! thanks so much

My Mom let me go stay with her sister (my aunt) on wed and thrus. My Aunt is only 25, and isnt married or anything. I like to stay with her, she is really cool, and likes to do the things that i do. My son is 2 1/2 and he is scared of being in his bedroom. My wife still rocks him to bed and when he falls asleep she puts him in his bed. He gets up in the middle of the night, every night, cries and wants to sleep with us or on the couch in the living room. He says he is scared. This all happened right after halloween when he got scared seeing kids with scary masks. I want to put a tv in his room, my wife doesn't want to. I think it will help him be less scared. He already has two night lights in there.... What do you think?

Ok i am bout 5ft6 and 160 i am about 3 wks prego i feel like i am sooo very bloated and showing lol!!! I know i am not yet but i have a feeling wiht this pregancy (#3) i will show alot sooner than with my first or 2nd (2nd ending in miscarriage).. I am pregnant with my second child, always dreamed of a big family. When I was pregnant with my son I had NO aprehensions, only excitement. Now with my second, also planned, I am soooo scared. What if I dont give this new one or my son enough attention? How do I make sure my son will be a good big brother? The delivery also gives me a little bit of anxiety too, not at all before.... Anyone else have these anxieties? How did you reassure yourself that you CAN do this!?
