I just recently had my son and he is currently staying with an individual while I work part time. I would really love to be able to stay home with him at least until he starts to school but we can't afford it. So my thinking is this...my babysitter charges me 60 a week...if I were to become certified and took on three maybe four kids charging just a bit more then mine we could afford it then..I just don't know if I really want to commit to staying at home each and everyday watching other people's kids until 5-5:30. What are some pro's and con's of being a babysitter.

have an appointment Monday, but can anyone assist me. What do you think? My last full cycle was Sept 25, I was a week late and when my cycle finally came it was only a day and a 1/2 and only spotting. I have been having cramps like it is going to come, excess salvia ( I even have a spit cup), headaches, and I am always thirsty, its like I can't get enough water. I have been eating candy daily and I am not a candy or sweets eater. Everynight I go to sleep my hands go to sleep (you know like the feeling of pins and needles) and it gets so bad it wakes me up. I go to bathroom a little more. Any help to ease my mind. Like I said I go to see my OB-GYN Monday

I know this women that has two children, ages 3 and 2. They are always dirty and stink. The oldest is showing signs of autism and the mother won't take the child to the doctor for testing. In fact neither child has ever even been to the doctor. The women is trying to get pregnant again and she doesn't seem to be taking care of the children she has. I know they are spanked hard when they do something bad, they are always yelled at. They are left in dark rooms alone for hours, and made to sit still in highchairs. The oldest doesn't talk, doesn't play with other children, and when is asked to bring a toy or something the child looks at you like she doesn't understand what is being said.. I know things in this home are bad, but is it bad enough to turn them in? Is turning them in right, or should I just wait longer and see if things change? I think this women maybe be out of control. She hit her mother when she was a teen, and was put in the hospital for drugs and cutting herself.

My friend had a Baby girl Wednesday morning and she still is nameless. There is no father around so I was going to see if somebody out there can help a little. PLEASE no common names. Something original. I am a cop so I suggested something like Bullet or Sarge. But she didn't buy it. So anyone have something better...

I have been feeding her some table food sometimes for over a month now. Her favorite to eat throughout the day if she had her way would be her cheerios. Seems like ever since i started her on food she won't take any of her baby jars anymore. She'll still eat her cereal every now and then. She'd rather just eat what were eating. Is she getting enough of what she needs and if not what should i be feeding her?

My son is 6 weeks old and loves to eat! He is eating usually 4 ounces every 2 hours at night and 3 1/2 - 4 ounces during the day. Lately during the day hes not making it the 2 hours and wants to eat after an hour and a half. He takes forever to eat, so by the time hes done, he takes a little nap and is hungry again in 30 minutes. Im not sure what to do..should I try to make him eat more at one time? Or should I just roll with what hes doing? Hes always hungry (hes a chub-chub lol) Ive also recently switched formula because he is very very gassy. Hes now on Enfamil for fussy and gassy babies. How long should I give it to see if its okay for him? If you have a gassy baby that spits up, what formula worked for you? Thanks everyone :)

I have one year old twins, and I just worry that they are eating too much. They eat three meals a day. Breakfast @ 9 am, nap @ 11 - 12:30, Lunch @ 1 pm, nap @ 3 - 4:30, and Dinner @ 5 pm. I know a lot of people feed their kids three meals and a snack in between, but mine sleep right through the time for a snack. I want to make sure they get enough to eat, so i put a variety of different "finger" foods on their trays and let them go to town. My problem is, they dont stop eating, or at least i have never seen them turn down food. Even when i was feeding them jars of baby food (one stage three jar each), they didnt turn away from the spoon. My son would get upset when i would scrape the jar, because he knew it was empty. I dont give them too much to eat, but how much is enough?
Example meal : 2 Tbs of green beans, 2 Tbs of carrots. 3 Tbs of cheerios, 2 Tbs of cheese stuffed pasta, 3 Tbs of yogurt, and 4 oz milk. The veggies and grains vary every meal, is that enough?

My nausea is so bad that I can't hardly eat anything I try to eat as much as I can, but I only eat 1 meal a day. I've lost abt 20 lbs. & I sometimes throw up if I force myself to eat. Is it ok though that I don't eat. I'm taking folic acid and a prenatel vitamin. So that should help w/ providing noutrishin for my baby. Right? Is it ok that I'm not eating? And when will all this nausea go away?

My 3 week old daughter is suffering from a mild colic. Despite frequent burping (after every ounce) she gets really gassy and although she doesn't spit up very much, the gas is making her miserable and she cries a lot and it's hard for her to sleep/stay asleep. I actually have her sleeping in her carseat now at night as sleeping in her bassinnette seems to make the problem worse. She's better when she's not flat on her back. I took her to the pediatrician yesterday and all she could say is that this is very common in newborns and went on to explain that a newborns digestive system can have a hard time at first but it should get better at around 3 months. She says that three months is "happy time" Geez, I hope so! Is this true? Will it get better at around 3 months?

I am 30 weeks pregnant and I plan on breastfeeding if I can. I have heard that you can't diet while breast feeding but I have found that the weight watchers program has a program for nursing moms so I plan to go by that. I had a friend at work tell me that when you eat your body will nourish you before making milk for the baby. She said that if I work out for an hour and say I burn 1,000 calories that I would have to replace those calories in order to produce enough milk for the baby. Is this true? I'm so confused about all the dos and don'ts involved with breastfeeding please help... :(

What objects do you allow your baby to touch or oral-explore (under supervision) that aren't really for babies?

I just want to know __what other parents allow__.

Last night when I wasn't home, my 10 year old son and wife had a yelling argument. She got frustrated with him and grabbed him by the neck(like choking) with her hands and told him "never to talk to me like that again". I have had to get between them before when she went after him. Normally she is very loving with all of our kids, but gets frustrated easily and flies off the handle. There has never been physical harm to the degree that marks were left. My son told me he wasn't scared b/c she does it all the time to my daughter. Suggestions on how to deal with this?

According to my Dr. I'll be seven weeks pregnant tomorrow. I just had a question about cervical position, though. Around two months, what should your cervix feel like? Should it be soft, medium or hard? Also, should it be 100% closed?

I have my first pre-natal exam two weeks ago. She said everything looked good. Last week, my symptoms started getting worse. I have had an increase in nausea (no vomiting), breast tenderness, and some mild cramps.

My question though: my cervix tends to change daily! Sometimes it's high, soft and tightly closed. Other times, like today, it's medium softness and has a dimple which I can fit the tip of my pinky in. It's still high. Is something wrong with me? Should your cervix be high, soft and closed the entire time, until labor begins? I'm really scared. This is my first pregnancy.
