If it's particularlly cold in December where you live,

Get one piece footed zip or snap up Put a Onsies on underneath, and maybe socks too. Don't for get a knit hat to keep her little head warm. Swaddle her in a blanket....

Or you could get one of those covers for the infant seat that totally covers them up.

If it's not very cold in your area, then forget the socks and the Onsies... but do remember the hat. Babies loose lots of body heat through the scalp.

Congratulations on your precious little one.

I brought two baby outfits to the hospital when I had my baby. One was for the pictures, the other for bringing her home. She was born in November, and it's very cold where I live - she wore a little pink dress for her pictures and I brought her a onesie, socks, and a very thick sleeper to wear home - all in newborn sizes. I also brought a few blankets - a pretty one for the background of her picture, the other for when she went home. They provided her with a little knit cap, so I didn't bring one of those. You could bring a snowsuit or coat, but I didn't, I just tucked a few blankets around her. I had the car warmed up before I took her outside, had it pulled it right up to the curb and hooked her in the carseat before I went outside and it worked perfectly since she was only outside for a few seconds. (If you live in a warm climate, though, I guess this info isn't what you need...) I think basically if you just bring the baby something tiny, comfortable and easy (like no complicated three piece outfits with matching shoes...), you'll be fine! You won't need any other baby supplies, like diapers or lotion, the hospital will provide you will all of that, and you also won't need any clothes for the baby while you're in the hospital. Congrats and good luck!

get her a warm sleeper with feet. And then they have like..well i call them snow suits but it's not really a snow suit. They have fleece body suits with hoods and the arms fold up over the hands. Put her in that too and then cover the carseat with a blanket. You can take the blanket off once you get in the car but you dont really want her breathing in the really cold air if you can help it. I'd also take a couple of different sleepers. Just incase you have an unexpected spit up or something before you leave. It never hurts to have more than one outfit on hand with babies!

Congratulations and good luck!

As a mother of 3 and having given birth various times of year. I would suggest a sleeper with feet and put on socks underneath...you need to keep her tiny toes warm. Also I would suggest putting a thicker hat on top of the one the hospital gives you because they are thin...and keep that one from the hospital on for as long as it will fit. Finally, once you have her in her seat be sure to tuck her in with a nice warm blanket, but avoid her mouth area.

Pack diapers, a, beanie cap, a onesie, socks, a pajama, a one piece coat & of course the outfit you want the baby to wear in thier first pic. If it's warm out, dress the baby light. But if it's cold out then you can layer the baby. A good rule to follow is if you're cold then the baby is probably cold too. Congrats & good luck mommy!

anything covering the feet and hands, a hat and wrap the baby in a blanket and put a heavy blanket over the baby and make sure the car is warm enough to make you and the baby comfortable also.

a one piece in a Christmassy theme...red or pink soft blanket, hat, and of course a car seat. Strap baby in..cover with blanket and kick on the heat in car! Don't forget the camera for lots of pictures!

I'm due December 5th and I have everything packed up....I packed a warm fleece footed sleeper, long sleeve t-shirts (not oneies because they aren't supposed to wear those until their belly button falls off), socks, a fleece hat, a snowsuit, recieving and fleece blankets, and I bought one of the bundle me up covers that fits over the entire carseat...to block all the wind!

Good Luck & Congrats....keep your lil' one warm!

I'd go for a nice warm footed sleeper. I would also suggest taking gowns for the baby to wear while still in the hospital. Those t-shirts they put on them are so aggrevating.
