around 3-4 months but, full on talking and association with words he was about 2 years old

My son started babbling around 3-4 months. His first word was "Hey" and he said that when he was 7 1/2 months. Now he is 9 months and everyone he see's he is constantly saying Hey. Hey.. lol

Around 3 or 4 months. But my mother could get my daughter to babble away around 6 weeks. I used to joke that she was telling on me....because she really didn't coo or anything for me, but when mom would come over she'd carry on like she was having a conversation with grandma!

my daughter was like 4 or 5 months old when I first noticed she was babbling to her self me and her toys!!

As I type this, my almost 5 month old is babling and yelling at me incessantly. She started talking early, around 3 months, since she has an older sister who constantly talks to her. (We tend to be a vocal familly) My oldest started talking around 4 months (she'll be 2 in December). It should be encouraged that you talk to your kids as much as possible... not only are they learning to make the same sounds, but it helps them interact with you and keeps them entertained.
Personally, the big thing to look forward to with all these baby noises is not talking, but rather their first real laugh when you tickle them and play peek-a-boo. That was always my favorite. :)

Around 4 months. But they really start more at 6 or so.
