Only because I am one of those old fashioned, worry about what the kids on the playground will say, kind of people, but is it pronounced Bray, like a donkey Bray?
Since I have known two donkey's with the name Bray, that seems to be all I can associate the name with....

Sorry, but I don't like it. If it's pronounced with a long "a" sound....the only thing I can think about is that it's the word used to describe the sound a donkey makes....as in donkeys bray....cows moo....etc. When I hear some names I just think of what the kid will have deal with from other kids in school and on the playground. Kids will find any reason to pick at each other. But.......

If you are in love with it and have to use it, it's better for a boy than for a girl.

Sorry, it sounds like what a donkey does ....
Bray!

Consider these kinds of things when naming your children please.
I once knew an infant named "jamie" who was a girl - this was over 30 yrs ago, not today (it would be kinda normal today) - but that poor baby, everyone thot it was a boy!

Neither - if you don't know, donkeys 'bray' - that's the sound they make. Therefore, Braye has a lot of teasing potential when he/she grows up.

It is a TERRible name, a donkey brays when it wants to mate. Please dont call the child that. What about Ray but not Braye

I don't like it at all. I DO like the name Graye or Grayson for a boy - even "Raye" would be nice for boy or girl - "Braye" reminds me of what donkeys do. Donkeys do not "Winny" like a horse, they "bray".

I dislike names that can be used by other kids to tease or taunt . Please, I do not mean to insult you or put you down - its strictly just my opinion.

Yeah, sorry, I'm giggling. I came here to tell you that Braye sounds like a donkey, only to find you've already been told.

Dont like it by itsef but ok as a nickname. I only like Brayden or Brady and Braye only for short. But I definitely like Brayden....very cute and masculine name for a boy. Its nice to name him something with more character such as this and then still get your way with Braye by using it as a nick name. I only like Braye or forms of it for a boy. Sounds too masculine for a girl. The only way it could possibly work for a girl is if you did something like Braeana or Braella...spelling it without the Y so it looks more feminine, but I like Briana or Briella for a girl so much better and sounds similar.

Sorry but it sounds like the noise a donkey makes. I see much teasing in the child's future.
