My friend had a Baby girl Wednesday morning and she still is nameless. There is no father around so I was going to see if somebody out there can help a little. PLEASE no common names. Something original. I am a cop so I suggested something like Bullet or Sarge. But she didn't buy it. So anyone have something better...

lol sorry, but thank God she isn't going to use Bullet or Sarge - it might be a bit much for a girl. What about Sage? It's only one letter away from Sarge. Or Liberty/Libby (patriotic, I guess), Elanor, Teagan/Tegan/Reagan/Regan, Kennedy, Elora, Janey, Penelope, Riley, Cassidy (Caz), Maeve, Aislinn, Brier, Jacoba/Cobie, Hadley, Haven... and I can't think of any more. Sorry lol. Congrats to your friend!

Bullet or Sarge, are you kidding me??? Maybe they would work for a dog, but a child, especially a girl!!?? There really is nothing wrong with having a normal name...my name was unusual and it was such a pain having to repeat my name, spell it, etc....I was a really shy kid and it had a lot to do with my unusual name.

At babycenter,

http://www.babycenter.com/

they have a huge listing of baby names. They also have name listings decade by decade: it's called Baby Names Through History, and has names from 1880-2005 (a 2006 list is available on the site, but not included in the 'historical' listing).

the link is below:

http://www.babycenter.com/0_top-baby-names-through-history_1508595.bc

the link for the 2006 list:

http://www.babycenter.com/0_top-baby-name-trends-of-2006_1506939.bc

the link for the baby name finder (the main list)**:

http://www.babycenter.com/baby-name-finder

**To have the name finder generate the complete list of names, click 'find a name' in the lower right corner (after the areas to fill in if you want to find specific names). The name finder will bring up all names. Or she can fill in her choices.

She might also want to consider a name from an area of interest--you selected names related to being an officer. what is she interested in?

Hope I helped. God bless you for being a good friend, and the new mom & baby.
